Rest In Peace, Ernie Banks

Hall of Fame infielder Ernie Banks died yesterday at the age of 83. Known as "Mr. Cub," he was selected to the All-Star team 11 times and was elected to the Hall of Fame the first year he was eligible.

Rest In Peace, Mr. Banks.

I was saddened by Mr Banks' passing. He was one of the true baseball greats.

Played his entire career for the woeful Cubs, yet he wasn't bitter about it, 19 years with the same team without a playoff appearance. One tweet I read said it all "he arrived at the pearly gates and asked St. Peter if "they could play two". Rest in peace "Mr. Cub".

A Grear Lose for The Chicago Cubs.

I just read that he started in The Negro League making $7 a day. Was the first Negro to wear the Cubs uniform. RIP Ernie Banks.
