what sort of restraining gear do people use when tickling... from nothing at all - to X frames.

whether it be cuffs, ropes, gags etc...

share your thoughts 🙂

My personal favorite is a pair of soft but firm leather cuffs with snap hooks. Esay to fit to my brass frame bed, to screwed-in hooks in the door frame, to almost any dungeon device. I'm a total loser when it comes to tie rope knots (I even avoid shoes with shoelaces!), so that's the quickest way to render the ticklee immobile. I even take them to my visits at pro-dungeons.

About ten years ago, I introduced a girl into the world of tickling. She got thoroughly hooked to it, but sadly she fell in love with another man. Nevertheless, we remained friends, and she confessed that she converted her lover to ticking, too. I became best man at their wedding, and one of my wedding presents was her favorite pair of leather cuffs... 😎

Hal,

How well do these snap hooks work? I've been looking for something that is gentle enough so that they won't cause actual pain (like metal handcuffs) but at the same time are tight enough to where the 'lee won't get loose.

It seems that most cuffs I've tried are like belt buckles, with several holes, and you have to place the metal piece through the nearest one. In reality, non of the holes fit perfectly; one is SLIGHTLY too tight and the next is SLIGHTLY too loose, and she'll end up getting out after struggling for a while.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks1

Drew and I do a variety of stuff. Sometimes, we just have tickle fights, requiring no restraint at all. But, when we REALLY want to go at one another, we have a couple of options. One is cuffs that we have fastened to the foot of the bed....with the straps coming up from underneath. The cuffs themselves have a velcro closure to them. While these may not be the best for those who fight too much in really torturous settings, they work fine for us. The other is a modified x-frame board that I built for him for his b'day. It has velcro closure restraints at the wrists, upper arms, chest, hips, upper legs and ankles. Though we find the bed more comfortable and use it more, the board is good when you want the other to hold still...provided you fasten them snugly.

NYCity, here's a simple solution to your quandry...use a skewer or something similar and make a new hole in the restraint where you need it. That should work.

I like the cuffs, myself, as they're quick to set up if you're itching to get into it, so to speak. However, in my own personal play, I like to get into the whole bondage thing. There's just something about the look of good ol' fashioned white rope that does a heart good.

As a fan of bondage, I like to combine the two (bondage and tickling) into one yummy new snack. So...gags, plastic wrap, blindfolds, apparatus...all of that comes into play eventually.

The important thing is that whatever you use be comfortable, so as not to take away from the experience.

Oh yeah...I guess consent is kind of important too.😀

NYCity, seems I caused a bit of misunderstanding: The leather cuffs themselves are fitted with belt buckles like you described, the snaphooks are just for fixating the cuffs to whatever frame.

I prefer the long leather cuffs, reaching up the forearm about 4-6 inches. That way, the pressure on the wrist is distributed to a bigger area, and struggling doesn't hurt. Moreover, it's almost impossible for the hands to slip out of the cuff. A particularly interesting variation looks almost like a glove with an inbuilt handle for the fingers to get a firm grip; very useful in hands-over-head positions! I saw them in a dungeon once, and I'm still looking for them on the web.

Hal...Venraya and I are going down to a place called the DS Toychest on Thursday. I seem to recall seeing something along those lines there. I'm not sure if they have a site or not. If they do, I'll post the link here for you.

For anyone in CT and surrounding areas...this place is right off exit 8 from 691 in Meriden. They have everything from fetish wear to videos and magazines to restraints to medical toys. It's really quite a place! And yes...they DO have tickling implements.

My fav. thing that I've seen there is an adjustable x-frame tilt board. If only I could afford one! Guess I'll have to figure out how to make one.

Leather cuffs fastened together by a leather strap which is tied to the bed or the end of the coffee table.

Save your money!!!!:sowrong:

Don't worry Ray. We won't spend too much. She'll be going with the biggest spendthrift on the face of the earth! I mainly look things over and leave....only to buy the materials and make things myself for a tenth of the cost. 😉

I made my own years ago

The material was a soft nylon webbing. The nice thing about nylon is you can use a hot nail to make your adjustment holes, without the material shredding. You see, the nylon melts and seals itself in place. For that reason it is easier to cut also, without fraying and having the stiches come apart. Attached to each stap I had a slack adjuster. This was a strap mid way, which was anchored to either the bed frame or leg. This provided the ability to give more or less wiggle room, depending upon the mood. It took a few trys to get it refined, but it worked well. Most of the fittings I found in an army surplus store. The cost was minimal, and the most important thing was I was able to engineer comfort and safety into the bindings. I no longer have a ticklee and the bindings were ruined in a flood. Other than that things are just great where tickling is concerned🙄

Leather cuffs and ropes and Beds...

It just so happens I have something that I'd like to hang in the bedroom...but it has nothing to do with a pot or plants. How big of a hanger can you make?

(and her favorite color is hunter green)

My favorite restraining gear.....

I would have to say duck tape! When you have that sticky tape wrapped around you bare skin I find it impossible to escape...🙄

Actually....

It could be done...due to the new polymers, the strength of this stuff is fantastic. The elasticity has increased to the point that breakage has to be due to sheer strain nowdays, but of course there is the question of "markage and rope burns"...yukky stuff, so you need to tread lightly. I'd suggest sending Venraya down here for a custom fitting to be sure I have it correctly adjusted. Plenty of Hunter Green in stock also, it's a fav of most people. I'm thinking a variation on a sling chair/hammcok with terrific accessibility and extremely limited mobility, but then again I'm always thinking that way.... Q The Crafter

Function vs "Art"

We artists never concern ourselves with "looks"...but if you want a guess, it'll be like a ficus without any of that "waving fronds in the wind" movement...lol. Q

Doesn't duct tape take the skin with it when you pull it off? At the very least, I'd think it'd create nasty sores.
