It was 70 degrees in the Detroit area yesterday and the Out"RAY"Geous one was riding the Harley for the first time in a while. There were lots of motorcycles out on the road, so I just want to wish all the TMF's Harley riders (and non-Harley riders) A HAPPY AND SAFE RIDING SEASON!!!

Also, as a reminder to all the other TMFers, to keep an eye out for motorcycles while driving, share the road, and be courteous!!!

Finally, I'd also like for this thread to be a place to post some pics of places (and people) visited during your riding adventures. It would be great for all to see!!

Thanks Izzy. True about the weather change. I rode my bike yesterday when it was 68 degrees, then I shoveled the snow a few hours later. It dropped to 30. Un-f***in-believable. Only in Michigan, huh.

Morning Ray. We (that would be me and TheBoss) got out and rode the same time for a while, then played in the snow before going to work hours later :ignite:

Actually, TheBoss just got a Road King for Christmas so she is really chomping at the bit to get some riding time in. I am sure there will be a couple of "Blessing of the Bikes" rides pretty soon, maybe we can hit the trail to one of them. Actually, if there are folks on here that don't want to post and would like to ride "sliently", lol, pm one of us, maybe we can get a few to go to one of the Blessings. Went to Hell a couple of years ago but missed them last year. Should be able to get some days in pretty soon.

Must post a pic.

Here I am checking out a Chopper. No, I'm not buying, just dreaming.

My bike has been my lifeline, lol...

The feeling you get from storming down the highway on a bike, is simply indescribable... It definitely helps keep things in perspective.

Sorry, Ray, my pic is 440 and I can only upload up to 400. Can't seem to find a way to change the picture I have of it. 🙄 :wavingguy

I found a program on pc that let me change the size I believe. Hope this works. Only a pic of the bike, tho.

Ray;

That's a nice ride you have. I used to own a Dyna Super Glide. Went for the first ride of the season here yesterday. Temperature was 8 degrees C. Roads were wet in spots but got about an hour of riding around the city. Felt really good to be on the machine again. The car drivers weren't too bad either.

Great pics guys 🙂

Anyone out there have bikes like Dukes, Norton's, BSA's, old British bikes and the like, post some pics or if your able post vids so we can hear them in all their glory :couch: :cool2:

Used to ride before I got cripped up.

Had a 1943 vintage Indian 4 cylinder; that bike was a monster. Built as a WWII battlefield courier bike. When I bought her, she was a pile of parts in a big bag of cosmoline. I lightened her immensely by leaving out and grinding down a bunch of milspec parts. The final result was finished in matte black and black chrome, and the only non-black on it was a silver gallows on the front fender and the words "The Hangman" in silver script on each side of the gas tank.

She didn't accellerate that great, but she could keep winding out until she top ended at something like 170MPH. Found that out at daytona in 1968.

KNEES IN THE BREEZE WAS MY MAJOR DISEASE!

Thanks Osprey! Hope you have a good season north of the border. (Perhaps the Red Wings will play the Flames in the NHL playoffs.)

Pokey, Sweet Bike!! Love the color and the 3 headlights! Hopefully, TheBoss will put some miles on her scooter this year.

Master Tank, That's a terrific saying. Gonna pass that one on to the boys at work.

KNEES IN THE BREEZE WAS MY MAJOR DISEASE!

Look what I found in Chicago:

Four Harleys from 1913 to 1930, a sculpture, and a Harley in the MSI.

Well I am thrilled to say that I had the privilage of going for a ride on Pokey's bike and boy was that fun! Ray, you know I am still waiting on you 😉

Hot~TAY Ray!:redheart:
Yes, y'all please do be careful. I just processed paperwork for the family on a strapping young 24 year old roofer who had both his left leg and left arm fully amputated. Car that hit him never even saw him. He'd had the bike brand new, all of two weeks.
XOXO

damn you were lucky..however getting to meet Pokey is soo much fun, riding on his bike would have been the icing on the cake...sounds like you had a great time..

Ray love those bikes.....get yourself down here now...hehe

Steph, I definitely will be careful. I hope all riders and drivers are all careful. Remember to share the road.

Laura, I know I owe you one and hope to make good on my promise soon.

Izzy, who knows? Maybe one day I might surprise you. Just be prepared to be have your feet tickled. (Same for you, Laura.....and Steph!!!)

We went out last week on the fat boy for oysters after work down at the bay...I love riding after work, if I can get it to happen! Such stress relief...
Of course, we don't have the long lull in riding like some of the less fortunate northern dwellers....we only have to park it for like 2 months or so...
I'm trying to be patient about getting mine...but its sooooo hard... i have the pic of it on my computer staring at me every day!

and here she is.... her name will be Louise....of the famed Thelma and Louise duo...my girlfriend and I call each other that...and we are naming our bikes after them...getting plates and everything...of course she already has hers... :ranty:

EVeryone be safe.....remember 2 wheels down.... :wavingguy

Steph..... Ouch!! That's a bad bit of news for a rider to hear. I feel sorry for the young guy. You have to ride with the idea that you are invisible. I have had my share of scares with traffic too.

Let us know when you get ready for that first ride on it and I'll ride that day in your honor, even if not with you physically, but certainly in spirit. Watch the sand down there also, it can jump up and grab you before you realize it happened, no matter how experienced you are. What a great looking ride!!!!! congratulations..... :couch:

very nice pic....i'm no expert, but wasn't that rather cold to be riding in?

I know huh. I can get his stay funded 100%, get him all the physical therapy he needs for life, get the prosthetics paid for...But I can't re-build his hope for living a life without pain, for being able to go back to work without years of adaptation to a totally different life. You hit it dead on with the invisible thing. I have one friend who's never been in a motorcycle accident and another 3 killed. He chalks it up to exactly that~"I ride ASSUMING they can't see me, ever."
XOXO

We did get to ride, and in fact, got to ride a great riding road also. It was fun! I am sure Ray will get there soon. Maybe we can all get together and come that way this summer. :woot:
