I am not so sure that it would be a very good way to make it in Hollywood. I fear it might be more like a honey trap "get-in-there-because-it's easy-then-can't-get-out-of-the-niche" kind of thing. As far as I know, there are not many examples of Hollywood celebs who did fetish work before breaking into mainstream, except in indie or direct-to-video stuff.

For writers, it is a bit different, at least where I am from. You're not considered a true writer if you cannot write a good sex scene, and titillating/borderline stuff actually add to your credentials with publishers. Not to mention the Parisian literary elite live in a very small world and all gather in the same circles.
