Just heard and it's so crazy I was just talking about him and his riff for Michael Jackson's "Beat It" the other day.

I've heard he had been fighting throat cancer over the past few years but I was hopeful that he would somehow come through. Another of my heroes gone. RIP Eddie Van Halen.
