Did anyone hear about this new reality show in the works where a person(who I'm assuming is a singer) will be chosen to front an established rock band? The band which will be used is INXS. This is a total slap in the face to their former lead singer, Micheal Hutchenson. He passed away in the late 90s, was a very good vocalist, as well as a charasmatic frontman. Now it's like the band is saying any unknown smuck can take his place.
This reality craze has GOT to end!

Michael Hutchence was pretty cool, even if INXS often seemed like an 80s version of N'Sync. As far as the show thing goes... it doesn't really matter: INXS stopped being relevant long ago....

INXS an 80s version of N-Sync?

I don't think so....INXS was a rock band who played their own instruments, not some cookie-cutter, fabricated, factoryline boy band.

You never know, Drew, it just might work out. Hey, if American Idol contestants have a successful career, then why can't the winner of this contest be successful too?😀

I think it's more the fact that the winner would be replacing someone rather than having a fresh start on their own. When you start out on your own, nobody expects anything more than what they've seen you do. When you replace someone else, it often reflects on that person, even if they had nothing to do with it...kind of a guilt by association thing. The biggest problem is that it seems a cheesy way to replace someone. I'm sure the band could have found a more respectable way to hold auditions. Now, we won't know if the person really wanted to persue a career in music or just get their mug on television....like so many in all the other "reality" shows. (Keep in mind here that we don't think much of reality shows.)

It'd be like the members of Aerosmith announce they were replacing Steven Tyler with some unknown singer they have nothing in common with. Imagine hearing "Seasons of Wither" or "Last Child"(the old 70s Aerosmith, anyway) with Clay Aiken on vocals.:disgust: :disgust: :disgust:
