Um....
"To allow same sex marriages violates all we hold sacred. The Bible speaks nothing of same sex marriages. It's just plain damn wrong, no matter how much you equal rights enthusiasts try to spin it"
I know you're speaking from the heart, Natural...and there's nothing wrong with that, but I (and I surmise others) would still like to hear why it's so wrong.
That's all I hear. It's wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. I don't see why it's so wrong for a monogamous couple in their forties, for instance, who've been together for umpteen years, can't get married.
I also don't see how a gay couple shouldn't be allowed to adopt either. There's not one shred of proof that the adopted child assumes their sexual proclivities. No, the only DANGER is that the child is exposed to other sides of life, and God forbid the child become a more tolerant human being. Oh, I see. The kid has to go to school and explain why he has two mommies. But then, if you're so concerned with that...why would most people then sit there and say, well, I went to school and got picked on, it toughened me up, why can't those kids on the football team act like men and SHUT UP?
I have a cousin on my mom's side, late forties...I attended his 'commitment ceremony' last year. It was very nice. They love each other very much...in fact his partner figured out which way he was wired later in life, and had a more or less amicable parting with his wife. He and his wife speak quite often, and his children think he's the greatest thing since Cheez Whiz.
I love this crap...the "Sanctity Of Marriage". Meanwhile the most influential individual in the history of mankind had one real human parent that you could speak of, right? The person who claimed to be his father had nothing to do with it; he was created through the work of an interloper. What about the sanctity of THAT marriage?
