I don't know why he was technically fired, but plot-wise he was fired on the show for something he said to Heyman. Heyman said something along the lines of "what, do you think I'm a joke?!" and Ron said "well...yes." Bradshaw was also there and he sort of chuckled to the idea. This was all due to the Smackdown roster turning their back on Heyman two weeks ago when they allowed Austin to walk right by them (out of respect) when Heyman was demanding unity and ordered everyone earlier to stop Austin and send a messege to RAW. Heyman was just on a power trip, and he paid for it when Austin got his hands on him and Lesnar.
Its this that Ron thought was funny, when Heyman walked by the APA in the halls. He stopped to ask them why they didn't back him up and this and that. Heyman consquentially put them in a title match for the tag team championship. The stipulation was that if the APA didn't win this match and become the champs then they were fired. They put on a pretty good match, both pulling it up a notch and almost winning on several occasions, but Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty won and retained their title belts.
Almost immediately after the APA went into Heyman's office to ask him what he was going to do now, and that they wanted him to tell them they were fired right to their faces. Thats what Bradshaw said.
Heyman then pulled the rug from underneath them by saying he didn't mean the APA was fired, he meant that Simmons was fired. Heyman then gave Bradshaw the choice of staying with Smackdown (and essentially him) or not betraying his friendship with Ron and quitting alongside with his being fired.
Heyman then made some points for Bradshaw to consider. Such as his books, his out-of-ring-career/appearances, etc, and then to top it off he said pretty much something like "how much longer are you going to allow this dead weight (Simmons)to weigh you down?"
Heyman then left his office and Ron basically told Bradshaw to just forget him, and that they should leave. Bradshaw just stood there with a conflicted look on his face, and Ron knew what it meant. And then Ron said something along the lines of "well I'll be damned...after all these years...after all these years."
They later showed Ron leaving into the parking lot to his car and Bradshaw was trying to explain why this was too hard a decision to make and that basically "I can't just give all this up because you said something stupid."
Ron just kept walking to his car and didn't answer when Bradshaw asked "we're still friends at least, right?!"
Obviously Bradshaw probally really hated to have to make a decision like that, and both he and Ron had the carpet pulled from under them because of Heyman's "stress".
However, all was almost made well when the Undertaker came out and Tombstoned Heyman at the end of the show. That was the best Tombstone I've seen in a long time! Perfectly executed, clean and swift. Its good to have the deadman back! 😀
Although on Monday Vince will be having that lottery draft on RAW, and the entire roster will be split up again. So who knows what this means for Ron Simmons as well as everyone else.
Triple H is going to have a hard time getting back into contendership without Evolution behind him (assuming they get split up which they probably will, in which case Hunter will become a face again and will have to work his way up the latter again or take advantage of an opportunity when it presents itself).
I'm also wondering which show the Undertaker will end up on. I think he should remain on Smackdown, and they should bring Kane over to Smackdown as well so they can continue their feud until its over. To be fair, the Big Show can go to RAW.
I hope both RAW and Smackdown traded fairly and for what is in the best interests of both shows (since we know its not a real draft and the decision has already been made).
Perhaps now that the APA is split up (for the time being) Farooq will turn heel on Bradshaw or something (if he's really not fired). A rivalry between them might be what Smackdown or RAW needs to spice things up.
I also think we need a fair diva exchange. RAW has the divas and Smackdown has the cruiserweights. I think things should be more balanced rather than exclusive.
