This is really sad. I am really into metal and although in my early days I mainly listed to Metallica, Maiden, Priest, and power metal bands such as Gamma Ray etc I have heard the hits such as Holy Diver and Last in Line. Glad there are some metalheads on this forum! Now although I still love all that stuff I"m really into progressive metal, eg Dream Theater, Threshold, Rush, Porcupine Tree etc
 
RIP Dio...You carried the torch to the highest mountain top and made rock & roll a stronger force!

I actually bought Roger Glover's "Butterfly Ball" record just to get Dio's "Love is All". Didn't know until 2 days ago there was a cartoon for it. So cool!

This truely does suck.RJD was probably my all time favorite from the first time i saw him live on the Holy Diver tour when I was in high school.After that show at the tower theater in upper darby,pa....he was the man.For the eighties,he had,in my belief,one of the best bands ever assembled.Vivian Campbell on guitar,Jimmy Bain on base,Vinnie Appice on drums ,and RJD on vocals.I was fortunate to see him live more times than I can count......he was the ultimate showman.When seeing heaven and hell at the house of blues in A.C. last fall, I had no idea that was the last time that I would.We just lost a great one folks.Thanks for all the memories Ronnie......R.I.P.

If you are interested, VH1 Classic is running some new programming tonight, much of it being Dio related.

Starting at 10PM VH1 Classic will air the Golden Gods Metal Awards from L.A. In this show Dio makes his last public appearance and wins singer of the year. Then at 11:30 the premiere of an all new special called "Dedicated To Dio". This is a 30 minute special featuring unseen interviews, videos and some thoughts from various people in the metal community about Ronnie's greatness.

If you can't watch tonight, I'm sure you can catch it later this week as VH1 Classic tends to replay a lot of their stuff over and over again.

Looks like that kooky church in Topeka behind the 12 foot walls needs more publicity. Those vultures plan to picket Dio's funeral next week.

I think the entire metal and hard rock world should try to attend...including Ozzy, to show solidarity and respect...and to see the Patriot Guard hold their flags in front of those ugly signs.
