Would you feel different if this was your 15 year old daughter??? I bet you would. That is almost what it's like for TG4L. It's a FAMILY MEMBER!! When I hear of something like that, I try to think of how I would feel if it was MY daughter as the victim! I can tell you this. If it was my daughter, those bastards better hope the police get them before I do!

What a horror story!!! I am so sorry to hear that, but please don't blame your cousin for what happened! The fault is strictly with the animals that did that. Your cousin should have every right to be "dumb" without fear that she will be injured by criminals!

Update: They found one of the guys. He's being charged. My cousin is seeing a counselor to help cope with her trauma.
 
I'm glad that one of the perpetrators has been arrested and charged.

I hadn't seen this thread until it was renewed recently, but I'm glad they've got one of them, and I hope at least that he's prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, which, alas, will never be nearly enough. I hope they find the other soon.

My heart goes out to you and your cousin, and I hope she can find some small degree of solace in the first suspect's arrest.

However, I can't say that I feel sorry for the girl. It sucks, but she brought it on herself.

It's ignorance/lack of teaching from the parents that lets these things happen. The kid invited strangers over because she didn't know any better.

And don't blame MySpace. There are assholes everywhere, no matter what medium you use to meet them through. The internet is no more dangerous than the mall or the local movie theater.

Viper: Thank you. It is true that she brought it onto herself. I don't actually know if it was Myspace or not, so maybe I should not have placed blame so quickly on one website.... That was my error.
 
Just for the record....

forcible rape is never the fault of the victim.
Being incautious or naively trusting does not mean that she brought the rape onto herself.
In my book, if she said no and they went ahead, it was not her fault but theirs. Period, end of story. I can NOT emphasize this enough;

IT WAS NOT HER FAULT!

Rape is NEVER the victim's fault. There is no behavior so extreme that it justifies forcible rape. Changing her mind at the last second? Her privilege; live with it. Wearing provocative clothing? There's a thing called self control. Use it.

This poor kid was too young to be judged by adult standards at all. She had no experience of how things happen in the world. That's why the law says that even if she gave full consent it would have meant nothing because she was too young for her consent to mean anything. But as I read it, she did not give consent, which compounds the crime.

Both of those child-rapists should be imprisoned, with gay sadists three times their size as cellmates.

I have to agree with Tank on this one. Rape is not the victoms fault, and i don'tpossibly understand how somebody could come to that conclusion.

Oh sis, I am so sorry to hear that! Didn't know whose cousin it was until today!

But I do agree with you, people do need to get a grip and have some common sense, even at age fifteen! As I've told many people over and over, you can trust people on the net, a little, but to absolutely trust a person on the net is to only know them really well off line, and for a long time.

At anyrate, your cousin is in my prayers.

The only part of the story we know about is that a 15 year old girl was raped by two people that she talked to over the internet. That is not enough information for anyone to pass judgement on her.

TicklishGrl4Lfe, I'm sorry to hear about your cousin. I hope they catch both of the guys responsible.
 
Update # 2: My cousin was supposed to testify in court today but they postponed it, and now they are not sure if she will testify at all, since they just might use her statement. And I was mistaken, they have caught both perpetrators. May they rot for the rest of their lives.
