A couple of weeks ago as i was walking out of walmart i looked up and Tidas and Elfreind were walking in. I recognized them from some pix Tidas had posted. It was very strange. I couldn't approach them out of total respect for their privacy, because they had a small group of freinds with them. I recently chatted with Tidas and we both agreed this was a very strange occurance especially in a place as rural as mississippi. Has anyone else ever had this happen if so tell us.

I've thought someone I met looked familiar before but upon asking them I find out I was dead wrong. You win some you lose many, what can you do..lol

I've passed by Venray a couple times at the local mall; it was as close a celebrity sighting as I've ever had.

It happens when there are so many of us; best bet is to just enjoy it 🙂

This will end it- otherwise this becomes a hijack, but I want to be sure everyone knows you prefer to be called Stanley. :rotate:

The only person I have met in pulic was Pokey but it was planned. We had to drink some beer on a hot day like that, and he set me up with a prank phone call from Lynney the Pooh. 😛

not yet

it hasnt happened yet, but i can imagine it could be a tad awkward unless planned, but there are more and more of us everyday. maybe TIB or MTP jeff should run for president, then things will finally get back on track, as always, my 2 cents. peace......BLUE_THUNDER

i haven't run into any other TMF'ers yet, but i've chatted with a few online. hopefully, soon, all us texas tickle-philes can gather up in one spot and hang out. i have an excellent grill....
however, i DO hope to run into Priscilla J. sometimes, since she is a citizen of ol' lone star... 🙂

Here in New York it's a little different. A number of us have met in person by design, when we've set a date and then spent an evening at a restaurant together. From those evenings, I've particularly gotten to know one gentleman who, if I'm not mistaken, ranks as this board's most prolific poster. Since then, he and I have socialized among groups of people who had no knowledge of this board. So far nobody's questioned me as to where I know him from, but if they do, I have a very simple answer prepared: I just recall the first non-tickling event that he and I were both at, and make like that's where we first struck up a conversation. The key to comfortable socializing off-screen is to be able to trust each other with the knowledge of who you are in "real time," and find common ground to socialize about there. After all, tickling isn't the only thing in your life, so it's not likely to be the only thing that you and a fellow TMF member have in common in your lives. (The aforementioned friend of mine was with me for the train ride home from NEST last year, and the common ground that sustained the conversation on the train was completely unrelated to tickling.)

There are two fellow ticklephiles (aside from Lazzy and I) in the city we live in....one I grew up with and fully explored my (well, our) love of tickling with during that time, and one I met through her online and then met in person on purpose. We do run into them from time to time around town, but it's pretty much just like seeing any of our other friends out and about. Slightly more intimate, perhaps, because of the play I've engaged in with both of them, but more or less the same regardless. I can't begin to imagine how I'd react if I recognized an actual TMFer out in public. I'd probably wet myself!

It wouldn't happen in this small city, though.

Why? Why not just exclaim, "Hey, don't I know you?" Then exchange real names and converse from there.

On a bit of a tangent, but consistent with my point, I'm reminded of a moment in my graduate dorm some years back when two newly arrived residents were in the room with me where an ice-breaker social event was about to begin. I very plainly saw them look at each other out of the corner of their eyes, somewhat blushing, but they didn't say a word of acknowledgement. Believe you me, that made far far more of an impression on me (I'm remembering it almost ten years later, realize) than if they had thrown their arms around each other and had a fond embrace, or at least if they had greeted each other normally--"Hi, Jim." "Hi, Mary." (I've changed the names to protect the obviously guilty, or at least the ones who obviously felt guilty about something.)

Oh, I didn't mean it that way! I wouldn't be embarrassed.....I'm completely at ease with my love for tickling when among fellow ticklephiles....I would just be in SHOCK at seeing someone I recognized from the forum in our little BFE town! LOL

Mimi 😉

?

There was a thread similar to this not too long ago. I've never seen anyone from the TMF in real life -- or if I did, I didn't realize it at the time. However, I have had a few people email me to say they recognized the places I described in my stories. One gentleman from the forum contacted me after I posted the second of my Kate stories to say he thinks we were in the same hotel together -- and I'll admit that really boggled my mind at first.

If I did meet someone from the forum face-to-face I'd probably be surprised, but I'm sure I'd be fine with it.

Hasn't happened yet....

But I kind of wish it would.

I mean, since I'm usually out with my family who don't know about my fetish I'd hope anyone here would be respectful enough to not bring it up. However I admit, ever since I read the confessions where the guys say they drop things so they can briefly tickle women in sandels, I've bought two pairs to wear when out and about on occassion, hoping someone from here would do that to me.

4 TMFers in WR

Mimi,

How can you guys have 4 members in your town and I have yet to find anyone else here in Madison? Do you know of any other TMFers here?

Q

Well from what I know there are many many tickle lovers in PA, but I don't look at pics enough to think I would recognize anybody, not anybody from PA anyway. If I did meet someone by accident, I dont really know what I would do -- the people that I talk to on a regular basis aren't from PA, so I dont think any of the PA'ers would know me to trip over me and vice versa LOL It would certainly be interesting though, and fun!!!

it's kinda funny...as often as i enjoy tickling, if i were to meet someone off the TMF who i know is a member...chances are tickling would be a rare topic. i really enjoy the interaction here, and i love meeting new people. if i were to run into the friends i've made on here (ray, meems, izzy, steph, cos, kurch, etc.), it would suddenly be beer-thirty and there'd be steaks on the grill.

Must be alil to hot down here in FL, cuz it hasnt happened to me yet, but how cool would that be. Besides running into them by accident I have been tryin to run into a few on purpose 🙄

Q

Actually, the two I know here in my city are not forum members....they are just fellow ticklephiles. They USED to be members of the tickling community, back before the TMF existed, but neither of them have been active in it for years.

Two of my attendees at the GLAT gathering I hosted back in 03 were from Madison (a bf and gf duo), but I haven't kept in touch with them, and I have no idea how to get ahold of them since they are not forum members. Rest assured there ARE a few in your city....but unfortunately I'm not able to put you on their path. 🙁
