Safe Words!

I also agree with LK70. But that trust needs to be built up and earned which can be difficult at times.

To me, tickling has always been playful (not too intense)....so my ticklees rarely ever have to utilize their safe word; their comfort and safety are always my primary concern (I usually stop to make sure they're okay before they're to the point of needing to say a safeword).

very true

It seems to me that if one forgot their safeword, they could use the universal default safeword which is simply, "SAFEWORD!"

Excellent point. Also red and yellow work well. For me it is red and yellow. If things intensify with the person I play with I will have to develop tap or finger signs too. If you can't speak you can knock on something or hold up fingers to signify red or yellow status.

If anyone is confused red means stop, yellow means slow down or caution things are getting too intense and if unchecked will be a red.

What about people who shout out random things during tickling anyway? What's a good safeword for them?

Try "antidisestablishmentarianism." It's unlikely somebody will should that out at random.

I think I'd kinda have like a "safe sentence". For example, if I were tied up and being tickled, my safe sentence would probably be "I love the Yankees!" because I loathe the Yankees and am a thru and thru Red Sox Fan. So it would take a lot of tickle torture before I utter the words "love" and "Yankees" in the same sentence. 😉

Hmm...interesting...just be sure if in the throes of being tickled by an abject Red Sox fan, that said fan KNOWS your reasoning for saying that and can act accordingly....uttering a sentence like THAT without prior disclaimer could result in being tickled beyond your threshhold!!! LOL....

....now, I've never used/heard safewords between me and whichever female 'lees/'lers I've engaged with....largely due to the fact that no real means of restraint were ever applied (save for maybe our own bodies), plus, there were plenty of little 'breather' moments allowing us to get our bearings a bit before being made to laugh uproariously again.

....but...for those who do use more disabling restraints with one another (or, would like to) and would like to know what an effective safeword/sentence COULD be? May I suggest:

"OH GOD, I'M GONNA PUU-UUKE!!!!"

....THAT'LL stop the action toot-sweet.....

A normal safeword should work fine for someone like that. The thing about the safeword is that it's not random. So they can say anything else they like, as long as they don't say "red" (or whatever equivalent those involved agree on).

Good thread resurrection, GirlsDoItToo!

Generally, my safeword is simply "Red." There have been times when I've played with 'lers who chose other safewords ("Please stop, O Master of the Universe" being one of them).

I won't play without a safeword. While I agree with other posters in this thread that there needs to be trust between a 'ler and a 'lee, I don't agree that a safeword should only be used in an emergency; however, that is simply how I play, and it is not in any way meant to denigrate those who choose to play that way.

For me, "red" means stop...period. If I'm doing a scene with a 'ler, I expect him or her to stop when I say "red," no matter why I've chosen to use a safeword. If I'm the 'ler, however, I'm willing to play in whatever manner a 'lee chooses; if he or she prefers to use a safeword only as a last resort, or prefers not to have a safeword, that's fine with me. In the words of that wise man DVNC, "It's all about the love."

Again, I've been misquoted: I'm "innocent."

(I do, however, have a T-shirt that says "farfrominnocent"; the gentleman who gave it to me was simply mistaken.)

safeword is an interesting thought that I never really thought about. I guess mine would be more of a safe tone in the way I scream aaaaaaaah!!!! with a level of desperation he has to pick up on if he has ears and any sense of decency ,lol.

My current lover and I, we use safewords and I always let him choose. He always chooses something really long that he knows I won't be able to say like... "You're my soul mate" or "I love you always" alot of sweet things but things I can't get out during tickling. grrr lol

Reminds me a of a really neat 'lee I had the pleasure of tickling recently. Tickling gets her very turned on, and well into it she kept saying, "Please let me c...." Couldn't quite say enough for me to be sure what she was asking for, though.

You're an evil, evil person! That's all I have to say to you. :devil2:

Of course, my actual safeword is something just two syllables long, that I could get out with (er... relative) ease if I needed to.

A happy feeling from one recent session was the memory of seriously considering using my safeword in a moment of tickle-induced craziness, then mentally stepping back to really think about it, and deciding I didn't really want my 'ler to stop.
