saffron gates/ any thoughts?

Just curious what anyone thinks of the saffron gates in Ny. i think its absolutely ridiculous. another example of liberal lunacy. ive never been a supporter of any form of federal or state grants to pay for art. especially when artists would consider things like crapping in a jar an art form. thats about the mentality of what art is nowadays. art should be paid for by either private donations or cover the cost yourself. at least if im not mistaken, that sorry excuse for art in NY was paid for by the artists themselves.

What a waste. As a New Yorker I am sick of people trying to fix this city. How do you try to ruin such a classic beauty as Central Park?
