Is it time to just admitt that the saints are winning the superbowl? no matter what they will be playing inside the whole playoffs.. wether its in new orleans, minnesota, dallas, or arizona

there isnt a team out there that can beat them.. everyone saw what they did to the patriots so i dont think the pats would stand a chance

dallas always collapses in dec-jan so im not sure they make the playoffs let alone win a game

arizona would get into a shootout and the saints dont make mistakes and can run something the cards cant do

gb cant protect rodgers and they have a weak defense

minnesota would have a shot and are probally the only team who stands in the saints way but favre is known for his late season choke jobs

colts have a young/weak secondary so i think brees would kill them

bengals.. see past 20 years they wont win a playoff game

chargers have had a weak defense all year and they are really inconsistent

steelers cant handle 4-5 wr sets (see record v patriots over the last 8 years)

broncos too inconsistent and they dont have the offense to keep up with the saints

ravens you never know which ravens will show up.. the good or the bad either way they wouldnt be able to hang

shame to call the season this early but i really cant see anyone stopping the saints, they may win it all going away

I kind of want the Saints to win, but I still have to admit that injuries are just as much a vulnerability for them as they are for anyone else.

For example, if Brees got seriously injured at this point, they'd be screwed.

At this point, I think the only team that can stop The Saints is The Saints.

The ULTIMATE would be seeing the 18-0 Saints against the 18-0 Colts in the Superbowl with the Saints winning 51-49 on a last second Field Goal. The kicker would be seeing the look on the 72' Dolphins faces.

I have to admit that this season is hard to predict...unless the saints make a fatal error or have an injury happen like Brees goin down...Which ever other team it is will have to pull out all the stops and more..My opinion is Either the Colts or Vikes...These teams do have the 3 best records..but then again regular season records dont mean crap when it comes to playoffs and superbowl, but thats just my two cents.

One can dream... I would love for that to happen... lol

You know, the Saints could lose- I've been watching the NFL for over forty years, and God knows how many teams I've seen entering December having everyone think they're unbeatable- and then everyone talks about how anyone could've thought they were this good, they're deficient here, they couldn't do this, they couldn't do that. It's entirely possible that the Saints could be upset in the first round, and their great season will be totally forgotten in late January.

There are NO absolutes in the NFL.

the Star will return to glory this year

Dallas Cowboys....Super Bowl Champs

at least we'll be in the playoffs...the Steelers cant say the same can they???

suckas

That's true. Remember the 98 Vikings?

Yeah I remember this all to well, have been a vikings fan since the late sixties and this was the worst disappointment in many many years. The Cowboys Hail Mary pass from Staubach in the 1975 playoffs was probably the worst for me though. http://min.scout.com/2/11650.html I have to agree with coach Green, the 1998 Vikings team was probably the best I have seen in all my years as a fan of them. Hopefully this will be the year.:numberone:

wouldnt be so sure cowboys collapse in december you guys could miss

but yeah steelers are probally done unless they get their shit straight asap and the jags/ravens start dropping games.. possible but not probable

Let's be serious for a second though. Do you hand a team a Championship after 13 weeks?

I mean look at Maniac he has the last three years handed the Pats a Championship. How has that worked out? And remember they were 18-0 going into the Super Bowl against the Giants. Thankfully the Giants won that game.

Fiend has been handing Dallas the Championship for the last five years claiming they were great. How has that been working out? I mean four weeks ago he had the Cowboys 9-2 heading into December but we all know they are 8-4 right now.

Guys and gals they play the games for a reason.

The Colts could probably hang with them. The Vikings could probably hang with them. The Cardinals ( let's remember they went to the Super Bowl last year ) could probably hang with them.

The Saints have to this point only won a division. They have not clinched the conference or even a bye. This will play out. How? I am not sure. But I am sure it will be fun.

I think regardless of how it plays out, I believe us football fans ( regardless of who you cheer for ) are in for a treat this playoff season. 😀

It wouldn't surprise me if the Saints lose in the playoffs. The Skins have one of the worst offenses in the league and Jason Campbell looked like an all-star against them. The Saints defense can be had and in the playoffs, there are no more cupcake teams that will allow them to come from 10 down with 5 minutes to play.

You make it sound as if the Saints have played nothing BUT easy teams.

You have never seen an undefeated team slip against a lighter opponent? As far as cupcakes...the Saints have played the Eagles, the Jets, the Giants, the Dolphins, the Falcons, The Panthers ( remember they went to the playoffs a year ago ), and the Patriots.

They played on Monday night in an emotional game against the Pats and came back with a letdown game with the Redskins. That is not exactly shocking.

To think that because they had a bad game suggests that will get picked off or that they are not as good as their record means you are not paying attention. Or you just don't like the Saints. In which case, I put you in maniac's catagory.

First, I'm actually rooting for the Saints because Brees is on my fantasy team. Second, have you been paying attention? Look at the number of points the defense has given up in all of those games. They've given up 27 points or more in 5 games. That's NOT a championship defense... and letdown game or not, the Redskins aren't exactly an offensive juggernaut.

It's not that I'm a Saints hater, but they've had to come from behind (2 TD's or more) in SEVERAL games this season. It's not like this was a one-time occurance. While I would relish the idea of the Saints and Colts 18-0 in the Superbowl, I stand by the prediction that the Saints will be upended in the playoffs. All of that coming from behind will catch up with them at the most inopportune time.

I'll start off by saying, I don't care much either way about the undefeated record. It would be really awesome, but it's only happened once in history, twice in regular season, so to just expect it isn't really in my head although I think it would be very possible. I'm glad we pulled out the win Sunday, because with the way we played, they could have put it away quite a few times if only one play of several went their way. I don't think it was so much the calls as the absolutely crazy plays, the strip after INT and the punt off the guy's back. Either way with 5 defensive starters out, including number 1, 2, and 3 Cornerbacks I'm glad we walked away with a win.

Can they be beat? Yea I definitely think on their off days, they sure can. Washington almost did it and so did the Rams. Neither are even in playoff contention. On the "on" days, and all starters healthy, I don't think most can, most of the time. I also don't like watching other teams score over 20 on us either. I think the numbers are inflated from an outsiders perspective if highlights and stats are the only thing being looked at. For the Lions, Giants, Eagles (2 of which are those 27 points against games), once we went up 24 points, the defense starts playing a prevent style defense, giving big cushion, keeping stuff underneath. All teams do it to a degree. We just happen to start doing after in the early third quarter due to an explosive offense. Either way, I don't like seeing that many points against for the very reason mentioned in that, while its great to have a number one offense, you still rather have that breathing room for the days when the offense is not playing up to par. I feel extremely good about their chances when the defensive starters come back, and if the injuries can stay away.

stats dont matter in the playoffs, look at the steelers last year they were 19th in passing and 17th in running.. not exactly a "championship" offense

and look at the cardinals they had the worst running game in football by a pretty big margain and they ran it down peoples throats in the playoffs

so what im saying is who cares what the saints d gives up they are scoring what they need to, to win the games

Then while you have been ripping into their defense, why haven't you said that the Saints have score seven touchdowns this season? I mean...if you are truly paying attention than you should have give that part of the story. Oh...and a defense that can score that many times is indeed Championship caliber.

Going by that bit of logic, the 49ers and Jets have championship caliber defenses because they've scored a few TD's... and look where they are... and I'm not ripping into the defense. I'm telling it like is it. They have a difficult time stopping people and that's going to bite them in the ass when the playoffs roll around. I mean hell, Jason Campbell looked like a pro-bowler against their defense. Additionally, if they find themselves behind by 14 points in the playoffs, it won't be as easy to comeback.
