Saw it for the second time tonight. It's a lion gates film and they rarely dissapoint me with suspense/horror flicks. I thought at times the movie was predictable but nobody can honestly say the ending was. Very solid movie with a nice twist. Anyone else seen it? Thoughts?

Great Movie

I rented it from blockbuster and was entrance for the whole movie. I didnt see any of the plot twists and the manequin and pig head mask looked grotesque. Cary Elwes put on a masterful performance and I think carried the film acting wise. I loved it so much im going to buy it next month, it comes in a special edition case which looks so cool. One of the better horror movies of all time.

Nope i haven't yet. but when it was in theaters my best friend saw it like three times. so that i'm sure tells you how good it was. but i'm def playing on renting it (maybe even tonight) since me and both my parents might be going out tonight for some pizza. so we'll see if we can head on over to Hollywood video after wards and rent a few movies....

*SPOILER ALERT*

I'm guessing you didn't follow the movie too closely, or talked a lot during it.. LOL.. Because the ending was easy to get IMO. After he smashed in the janitors head(whom at that point everyone thought was the killer) he saw a tape recorder in the janitors pocket also. When he played it he heard the real killer telling the janitor "would you kill a innocent mom and daughter to save your own life", which showed the real killer already got to him. The real killer then stood up(everyone thought he was dead the whole time, but he wasn't, he was listening to everything) and it was the old man in the hospital bed, bitter at the world because he was dying from cancer.

Dont know if anyone posted this on this thread but Saw was such a success they are already working on Saw 2. I cant wait! Oh and Monica Potter would be great to tickle by the way...among other things!

I was thinking they would be doing a SAW 2... But I didn't understand how since the killer was dying fast from cancer.

Possible Angle for Saw 2

Who said he was working alone? 😉 Seriously, Saw had so many twists and turns that itd be simple to take an angle and work it into a sequel. Saw was that good of a movie. Now the packaging for the DVD is a bit overkill but lets not split hairs!

True. They also never said what happend to Larry... Did he crawl his way out or did the killer catch up to him? Makes ya wonder...

Hollywood= Once a few pre-teen kids and teenagers like the horror movie thats being shown in Theaters and they rave about it non stop and tell there pre-teen kids and teenager friends to also go see it. Hollywoods ears perk up real high and they make a sequel to the movie or even contuine the series into a 3rd or 4th installment etc... even if the film is not doing well box office wise.

That's my defition of hollywood as far as horror movies go.

Amityville Horror

I also cant wait for the remake of the Amityville Horror in I believe April (I gotta check Fangoria!) The movie with Margot Kidder and James Brolin told nothing like the book WAY back in the early 80s. This one tells it all...Ronald DeFeos killing spree,indian burial ground of the insane,Lutzes slow descent into DeFeos personality,everything!! I know the story probably isnt real as we all thought in the early 80s but the Lutzes never confessed to trickery and its been 30 years almost. One wonders about the line between reality and fiction sometimes.😕

VC id agree with you if the movie is PG or PG-13, then the theater becomes a weekend cocktail party for high school kids who dont shut the fuck up! But movies like Saw and the ORIGINAL Texas Chainsaw Massacre are way out of those WB watching teenyboppers league.

Personally i don't like most Remakes. But some weren't bad at all like the new TCM and the new Dawn of the Dead. But most of the originals can't touch the remakes what so ever. that is why thier called classics for a reason 😀

But i feel if the horror movie is rated R then pre-teen kids should NOT GET IN No matter what. it should be only 17 years old and older allowed into R rated horror movies plain and simple......... But i'm not the kids parents.

It's supposed to be released into theaters on 06.03.2005

ps. i also heard through various websites in the Rumor Mill that the MPAA might dub this movie down to a R rated film. but theses are just rumors so it's not 100% True. so for now Haute Tension is still rated NC-17 (which i believe is the first time ever that a NC-17 rated horror movie has played in any type of Theaters nation wide)
