Bill, I'm really sorry, man. The bond between a man and his dog goes really deep. You were a good "dad" for this dog right up to the very end.
 
I'm so sorry to hear that. You sound like you and your dog had a good run, though. It may sound pathetic, but I swear losing one of my animals would be worse than losing a family member. Possibly because they don't really understand what's going on.
