Golly gee, it was a publicity stunt? Hmmmmm....yet one more reason my remote control does not stop on the SciFi channel.

Signs was still a great movie, though, and cant wait to see The Village😀

I love Signs too. This director (Shymalan) is good at what he does, and uses classical plot devices to move the story about. I particulary like how he kept the presense of the aliens subtle, but very concious. We didn't have to see them to know they were there or when they were approaching even closer. Crickets would stop, there was rustling amongst the corn stalk, the wind would blow the chimes in an almost eerie way, the dogs would bark, you'd here the aliens 'clicking', etc.
Anyone that expected this to be some sort of "Independance Day" type movie must have been really disappointed, even though Mel Gibson was in it and gave a really good performance. I was also impressed by Juaquin Phoenix (thats his name I think). Its not really about any of that, the aliens I mean. I mean it is to a degree, but its not the point of the movie. They are just a plot device that allows the movie to revolve around the underlying issue. Although I like aliens and alien movies, so I won out with this movie. ^__^
A co-worker friend of mine hasn't seen Signs. And after watching it again last night, I remember having told him yesterday that I'd let him borrow it. So I took the DVD to work today and gave it to him there. Hopefully he'll like it. I think he will. 🙂
As for "The Village", it looks promising, but if its just another "Signs" but with woodland creatures/monsters in place of aliens, then it might lose some of the suspense, me thinks. Based on how Shymalan makes his movies, we know a bit of what to expect, but I hope there is some plot twist or something dramatic that was unforseen and turns out to be memorable.
As for the topic and that it was all a hoax, that was uncalled for and unncessary. Down right wrong.
