Scientific Studies...

Awesome find Scooby. It seems as if tickling is really a scientific mystery. It's cool to know that people are actually studying it though.

Science lesson

I think tickling is just a form of human bonding. For example, chimps constantly groom each other as a sign of respect and friendship, so why shouldn't humans have something simelar? It obviously isn't a sign of friendship, but perhaps the point of being able to make someone laugh by touching them is meant to be playful. I think it's just one of those things nature provided to make life more interesting... Thankyou, nature!!! 😛

Scientific Tickling

Nearly 40 years ago, National Geographic Magazine printed a number of articles by Jane Goodall about her field research with chimps in Africa. One of the ways she interacted with the chimps was rib-tickling them and being tickled back. I don't recall whether that was something she introduced the chimps to, or something they already did among themselves. If the latter, maybe tickling goes way back in our prehistory - our nearest common ancestor lived maybe 3 million years ago.
