I still feel that if you see something that you don't like or agree with it's OK to leave "constructive criticism" but if there is nothing constructive in your reply then maybe it's best to just say nothing at all.
It is for that reason I still believe that the golden rule is the best rule!

@ Kalamos- Yes, I understand. I'm an artist too, afterall. But I wouldn't let that undeniable sensitivity to control how I react. It wouldn't allow me to be neutral toward people. Maybe I'm just stronger-willed than others but expect too much from them... Its just upseting to me when I see a fellow artist go through this and they seem unprepared and at the mercy of others. I'm sure you understand.

@ Daphine- I would hope this incident doesn't keep you from sharing in the future. And for the record, I do agree with what you're saying, especially in the universal sense. Try and rest easy here knowing that you will have that support when you need it. Theres nothing wrong with how you feel. Your frustration is rightious frustration. Every artist here has been through that at some point, you just have to learn to adapt to the unpredictability, the biasness, and the randomness of how an artist can/will/may be treated.

You'll be fine as long as you focus on whats important. 🙂

I see no viable connection with your personal experience, here.
You managed to stave off criticism of a personal kind.

In this case we are dealing with a "genre" objection.
Heie objected about the subject. Not the technique. Not the artist as a person.

A dog as a ticklee is an uncommon choice.
And yet Daphine's pic got an otherwise warm reaction.

I wouldn't call her over-sensitive or weak-willed: she's posted a drawing and she expected a 100% positive reaction.
Many of us do.
I expect no less than outstanding reactions when I post a new pic.
But, realistically, I know you can't please them all.

On the other hand, deleting a pic while it's still on top of the thread list is pointless.
We are arguing over, and keeping afloat, an otherwise dead thread.

Finally, I stand my previous point about good manners.
Mods can't ban users over a thoughtless grunt.
Were they banning users that liberally, the both of us wouldn't be here, free to post, now.

My point over this matter? Nobody is completely right or wrong.
It's not a question of black and white.
It's all about shades of grey.

Thank you to those defending me. Anyway...my post does not fit the criteria of "if you have nothing nice to say don't say it at all" because my post didn't have anything negative in it. It was a bunch of random nonsense that you interpreted as me having a disliking to your picture. Your interpretation was correct..but I did not blatently insult you in any manner in that first post.
