Second Life?

So I recently joined this Second Life thing that's going on. For those of you who don't know it's a virtual online world (that's free!) and you can really do anything you want in it. It's kind of like the Sims but with alot more possibilities. I'm still brand new at it, but from what I've seen it seems like there couldn't be a better place for lots of tickling to take place! There are all kinds of bdsm places and ALOT of different bondage tools. There's a group there for TMF members, but I haven't been able to find any places that focus on tickling! I've found alot of other bdsm role playing like kidnapping and stuff, and they allow for the possibility of tickling, but I think somebody with alot more time, money (land seems cheap..but it does in fact cost $$), and computer skills than I have should set something up, hm?

Second Life is free now? Or is "free" actually something like a free trial version for a limited time(for example, a 1-month free trial )?

If it's 100% free, then that's pretty cool.

Yep it's 100% free for one account. If you want to buy land you need $$, and you need $$ to buy certain things, but there's plenty to do for free.

I've been to Drfiter's Passage a few times...i like it 🙂

Ah, so you only need real money to get the game's money. I guess there are also things people could do to get the fake money (if not, there should be..like the game developers holding small contests in the game or something).

If it's like SIMs Online, then I wouldn't be surprised if the easiest way to get $$ is to team up with a few people, to create somethin other players would buy.

I think the idea of using real money for in-game money and vise-versa is pretty interesting...especially after I read about how some SL players made a New Orleans themed area and had concerts to raise money for Katrina victims . Of course, the real money wasn't as much as the game money, but it was still cool.

I'm gonna have to try the game sometime.

I tried Second Life for a bit, but it ran pretty darn slow for me on a computer that usually plays online games really well. D: Also, I had no idea what to do, and I hated my avatar. Soooo after a day or two, I quit.

It does indeed seem to have tickling groups if nothing else, though.

Second Life needs a DSL or other high speed connection and it needs a pretty good video card to run well if I am not msitaken.

Yeahhhhh they need to clean it up. I run on a damned fast cable connection and I have a relatively state of the art machine, and it runs slower than shit. I am NOT impressed.

And I bet if you write/call their tech support, they just say stuff like "did you do this? or this? or this? or this? " or "no you need this type of graphics card, not that one.." , instead of actually trying to fix the problem (I've seen that happen to lots of people on the City of Heroes message boards , so I wouldn't be surprised if SL players are havin the same probs)

Yeah that kinda crap is why I didn't sign up for COH(i tried it for..I think it was a 1-month free trial)....their tech support was NO help at all. I couldn't even log onto the damn game--and that was I think in 2004...and they're STILL having the same problems!

it sucks that alot of people have problems with it. my computer isn't anything special, and while it doesn't run as quickly as i'd like it to, it's definitely doable with little to no frustration. oh well.. 🙂
