If you don't feel comfortable about ANYTHING in an interaction, you are always free to back out at any point. Don't let yourself be pressured or coerced.
If you do happen to come across someone you like, if they're worth the effort they will show understanding and grace in taking time to build a relationship with you beforehand (not necessarily sexual relationship, it might be a purely friendly relationship). I'd also be more wary of charming psychos who know how to mask themselves to approach you easier and lower your guard rather than the annoying creeps who don't know how to properly socialize and signal their creepy behavior openly.

Though honestly, 90% of people here in chat look like red flags to me, men and women alike.

@Nolità🌸cutie: This is good advice, not just for the TMF, but interactions on the internet as a whole. I'll add that many people in online kink spaces are expressing their fantasies and that might easily come off as creepy or unhinged without context. A good rule of thumb when feeling someone out in discussion is to get a sense for what is fantasy to them vs reality. Some (not all) people with little or no real world experience live more in their fantasies than reality, and sometimes those lines are too blurred in their minds. That can lead to unsettling interactions and unsafe play. Just take your time and talk with a lot of people. The more people you talk with, the more patterns you'll see in what makes you feel uneasy and what makes you feel safe. Another red flag to look for in conversation is when someone seems to be overly self interested. If they do not at all seem to be focused on what you want, what you're interested in, what makes you comfortable, or what your limits are, they are being selfish and are likely only looking to satisfy their own desires without regard for yours or your feelings. In just about every community there are great people who keep your best interests in mind, selfish people who do not care about you, and people with good intent but bad execution. Look for people that are interested in you first and kink second, and I think that will go a long way in helping you find the right people. I wish you the best of luck! 🙂
