So i recently had an interesting conversation with someone. In my opinion, and from what i've noticed over the years, the majority of (ticklish) people when tickled will at some point be forced to laugh and smile. Now i understand that not EVERYONE has that reaction and there are some people who just scream or appear as they are in pain, but the most common reaction is laughing and smiling.
This other person's opinion is that the only reason anyone laughs when tickled is because they are enjoying it and choose to laugh. So basically laughter is never forced, its a decision the person makes and allows to happen. They said they've watched countless tickle videos and tickled a bunch of people themselves and no one that ended up laughing was forced to, it was their decision to laugh.
What are your thoughts? Is laughter from tickling strictly voluntary? Or is it something that can't be helped?
