It had been an eventful day, spent shopping in the local shops here in Cabo San Lucas. The dollar goes a bit further here. Anyway, resting back in the hotel (We had decided to skip clubbing this night, have to pace ourselves). Paige called me into the bedroom, a somewhat pensive look on her face. I asked her what was wrong, and she barely met my eyes, saying that she had something to tell me, but wasn't quite sure how. I was thinking "OMG! She's met some cute local boy, or girl!" She asked me to sit by her, saying she guessed she should have been honest from the very beginning, but, no matter what, she loves me. I told her I love her, too, and that she could tell me anything. SHe hugged me, burying her face in my chest, and started to cry. I asked her what the matter was, trying to be as comforting as possible, but what she said next left me thunderstruck:
"Tiff, I used to be a man!"
I couldn't believe it! I just could not believe it! Besisdes being one of the most feminine woman I'd ever known, she was so beautiful! She went on to tell me that she knew at 19 (She's 22 now) that (s)he was meant to be a woman. So her parent's, who are particularly well off, reluctantly decided that their son's/daughter's happiness was important, and funded her operation. As I was telling her it was all right, wondering how I was ever going to adjust to this, I noticed that the girl in my arms wasn't crying. She was laughing! I looked at her, confused untill she said;
"April fool's, Tiff!"
Well, my jaw must have dropped to the floor! It took me about thirty seconds before I could say anything. When I could speak, I reminded Paige that April Fool's Day wasn't untill Thursday. She said she knew, but I'd have guessed if she'd done it then! Good thing we're skipping the clubbing, because someone it going to be awful busy laughing tonight, and NOT at an April Fool's joke!
