I wouldn't go as far as to call myself house proud, but I don't like mud on my carpet or shoes on my furniture, hence the shoes off at the door rule if you plan on staying here for more than a few minutes. I'm not sure if having a foot fetish has something to do with it, but I'm not complaining. My floor stays clean and maybe 20% of times i'll see something worth seeing 🙂

But my question is this, well actually its quite a few questions. How many of you guys have the same rule? and is it partly down to seeing what those shoes hold? Do you think its obvious? If you are known to have a foot fetish, is that what people will be thinking when they are expected to take their shoes off?

I realise that this isn't really tickling related, but for most tickling and feet go together like bread and butter, if it needs to be moved please do so.

Cheers

My friends all know about my tickling and foot interests, but I highly doubt they think of that when asked to remove their shoes; they know I have a light colored carpet and want to keep it clean, period. I had a male 'ler for many years who was a foot *nut*, and yet I know that taking my shoes off in his home was strictly because of his major obsession with cleanliness and order; seeing bare feet was just a perk

Heck, in many parts of the world, it's common etiquette. I've friends OUTSIDE of this interest that did this in England, Canada and Australia. Many different parts of the states do this, yet not all of them.

Also seen houses with more than one mat by the door, in snow country. One that's abrasive for removin' snow and salt, and one that's for wiping down afterward. Those carpets always DID look a bit chewed, too...

I just kick 'em off 'cause it's more comfortable.

^ yea what he said...i've always taken my shoes off as soon as i come home..more comfy that way...but i keep my socks on...my husband sheds both shoes and socks..

Bella...some men do have nice feet...however my husband isn't one of them lol...he has two webbed toes on both feet..i wonder why his mom or doctor didn't take care of that at birth...it would have kept him out of the armed services i'm afraid..

I'm sure some men do have beautiful feet, but they are few and far between, although its possible that I'm looking in the wrong places, or just not looking at all?

The strangest girltoes in the world can be painted, sadly its not so easy for us 🙁

I once had nice feet, then the army came into the picture. Then army boots. Then ruck marches. Then morning runs with army boots carrying a ruck. Maybe some people like the 'beaten to a pulp' look. :3

...or maybe not. :happyfloa

It's always been in my house that you take your shoes off when you come in the front door, my parents did this. Though I must admit it is a perk when a girl with nice feet comes round 🙂.

P.S Hellllllooooo Britfoot.

Beautiful male feet are hardly few and far between, you haven't been looking (and why would you? 😎). They're everywhere, especially in the spring and summer. Furthermore, unattractive female feet can NOT be saved with nail polish, that's a myth created by males who really want to believe any Nosferatu toes can be redeemed with a flick of the brush; but sorry, ask any video producer: a scarily bent toe is sooo not magically improved by Maybelline Flamingo Red #5 😛

Not to mention crusty ass heels! :xlime:

Dude, enough about the crusty heels. We know, you don't like them, hush already 😉

Heels can actually be brought back to a nice smooth state pretty easily, it takes time but it can be done. But you have to care, and since I started running and bellydancing I understand why many people choose to ignore it; it *hurts* when they're all smooth and callus free and tender again and you run/dance/whatever :scared: and being hypervigilant about the crustiness can get old if you're not a foot devotee (or devoted to one :cool2:)

It isn't a rule in my home, but I do it anyway. I almost always have on socks, though, except for when I'm getting ready to get into bed. But when I come home, I remove my shoes. It's kind of odd, too, because I used to be the kind of person that kept his shoes on all the time. When I got up, they'd go on, and they wouldn't come off until bedtime. In the past several years, I managed to change that somehow.

As for nice-looking feet, I don't think my feet look that bad---with the exception of my toenails. I have that nail fungus that the TV ads sometimes talk about. It's the one that causes some of your nails to get all yellow and brittle. I would like to get that treated, but I never do. I kind of think I should, because I'm not sure if it could progress into other types of problems if not treated. If I could just bring myself to get that treated, though, my feet probably wouldn't be too bad to look at.

And I'm not surprised that a lot of guys don't like "manfeet." For some reason, we men just don't have the ability to see beauty in our own sex, like many women do. That's generally speaking, of course.

I have that rule at my apartment, I just take my own shoes off when I get inside and remark that NY City streets are so dirty nobody should wear outdoor shoes at home. 😀

Why stop there?

OK, we've made you take off your shoes to preserve our whitewhitewhite carpets, but we can't stop there!
Those shirts/blouses bear lint and those skirts/pants have cat/dog hairs and chickweed burrs and whoknowswhat!
So, off with your garments, guests!
(Hmm...are those goosebumps? Aw, cute!)

Never been a rule while I was growing up, but my roommate follows that rule. I honestly don't know why she does either. She's admitted to having a foot fetish, though I doubt that's why she does it. So since moving in with her, I've been doing it too. I kinda like it as my roommie has some delicious little feet. 😉

Growing up putting on shoes was part of getting dressed, I always wore my shoes in the house. If I went outside and my shoes got dirty (rare for me, always hated getting dirty lol) I would take them off at the door and go find a clean pair to put on usually. It was a big shock for me once I got into grade school and made friends, most parents didn't want shoes in the house. Now I'm out of college and have a job and a place with a couple friends, and I still put on my shoes in the morning before work and don't take them off again until right before bed.

At my place we just take our shoes off to keep from tracking dirt in. None of us are foot-fetishists specifically.

i don't really have that rule, but people around my place do it almost on reflex. me, i normally slip off my shoes and socks, especially after a tough day. when i pad around the house, though, i put on my flip-flops just in case the crafter of the house drops something pointy on the floor.

My former husband used to have a rule, he never removed his shoes in another house, unless the host gave him house shoes to wear. He thought the burden of courtesy was on the host. Do you need to know more about him?

I don't insist upon it in my house, but it helps :jester:

I dont know I always find it odd when people ask me to remove shoes when I visit them. Why bother getting an expensive carpet thats needs all that high maintence? To me its just more work and what about if your place is flooded?
People have germs all over the place not just on floors and Id simply prefer a small mat at the door to simply whipe ones shoes. Nothing wrong with well kept carpets but ive been in homes where they just look horrible when they get run down. Im more of a wood floor person frankly and leaving ones shoes on. but I guess its my personal prefrence.I understand a clean home is a matter of personal pride, but Id think in my home Id want people to feel comfortable and not worry about the delicate interior either to me its sort of silly.
