I've been waiting for this movie ever since I purchased Silent Hill 3, one of my personal favorite horror movies of all time. The games kick ass, and I have faith that the movie will as well. I found out that Konami worked with the producers of the film, and the producers were also fans of the game than I believe we can all expect a grade A movie.

So again I ask. Who's going this Friday to see this movie?
I can't I have to work... CRAP! But Hells Bells I plan on going Saturday and seeing it, I'll see it twice or three times to make up for not seeing it opening night, than get the DVD... tee-hee I have my next few months planned.
 
Can't you get out of work for that day? Just have this conversation with your boss:

OmG! I can WAIT to see this movie! Silent Hill is my all-time favorite game in the world!! I'm SO there!
 
been waiting for this to come out for a LONG time now.. ever since the concept was even thrown around.. played all the games, only beat #2 and #4.. i found out it was coming out like a month ago.. and as soon as i did, i picked up the phone, called a friend, made plans with her, and i am there.. friday midnight screening.. same thing i did for 'land of the dead'.. this movie is going to be insane..
 
I'm in the same position you are Factor, i work friday night so i won't be able to catch the movie. However, i plan on seeing it first thing saturday morning.

Personally i've been waiting for this movie for a long time. I do however admit i have soem reservations. I'm not sure where the story is going, and to be honest i think they should have stuck truer to the first game. That being said, so long as it's not another "Resident Evil", i think i'll be happy.
 
Like cosmo said, as long as the main character doesnt start flipping off the walls and techno music starts up, it should be good. I will probably wait for a few reviews first.
 
I never played the game but id like to see it. My girlfriend has played the game and said it was quite scary. A video game that scary? Come on! :jester: Still ill be there hoping the movie is good. :scared:
 
You guys are all lucky, the movie only comes out here a week later... 🙁 But that aside, i've played all the Silent Hill games, seen all the endings, in both PSX and PS2 plataforms, so i'm also so into seeing this film... My only fear is that (as they tend to do even more these days) the story line doesn't match with the games. Hey Warheart, iff you appreciate horror games, you should really check this one out, it's the best of this kind yet.
 
I loved the games, and the movie should be good as well. I'll probably see it on Friday or some other time this weekend....

You might find this interesting Cosmo, but when the script was first written for this movie Harry Mason was in it, but they changed it because they said that the role would be too feminine for a guy.

But I doubt that these girls will be flipping off walls, I'd hate it if it turns out that way, but I doubt it will.
 
Ah! What the hell! Ill go see it since theyre are no other horror movies out unless it gets HORRIBLE reviews! :devil:
 
I already have tickets to the first showing friday morning.

I'm in the process of replaying all the games to get ready.

I just saw the preview and thats enough for me, I really dont like horror movies. The last horror movie I saw was Wolf creek and that made me sleep with the lights on for a month.

But it looks like a good movie if you like that style.

I'll probably be going to see it. Though I haven't had the chance to finish the game yet.. One of the games I own, but haven't yet had the time to finish.
 
If you guys do post a review about the movie, don't post any spoilers without giving some kind of warning. I don't want anything about this movie to be spoiled for me. God I can't wait, in fact I won't come here until I see the movie.

That'll insure that nothings ruined for me.

Oh guys one more thing! They wanted to keep the creatures in this movie the same as the creatures you find in the game, except one. The writer said that he wanted to create a monster, and when they showed it to Konami they got the the thumbs up to add it, but not only that. Konami liked the creatures so much that they asked if they could use it in future games. The creature is called "Janitor" or "The Janitor."

Just got back from seeing it. I won't spoil anything, but for fans of the GAME, this is an excellent film. Anyone who hasn't played the games might be a little lost. I thought the ending was brilliant.

by the "Game"

I meant the Silent Hill video game series, which has been around since 1998, which is where the film originated.

I'd heard the movie was also a vid game, or they made a few games about it, something like that, right? So being a "non-gamer" I shouldn't spend the $?

Well, it's my honest opinion that if you don't know anything about the games, you probably won't understand the "flow" of the movie.

I loved the movie, but I've beaten all the games, and am an avid supporter of the franchise.


If you like gore, and evil religious cults, things of satanic nature, you'll love this movie.

Just go into to it with an open mind.

I have heard mixed reviews about this movie and was'nt sure if i would go see it or wait for the movie to hit the shelves and borrow it.
