Since the Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord's Prayer

Since the Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord's Prayer
are not allowed in most  public schools anymore
because the word "God" is mentioned....a kid in Arizona wrote the
attached NEW  School  prayer.

I liked it....

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!

  Amen

If you aren't ashamed to do this,
please pass this on.

Jesus said,
" If you are ashamed of me,"
  I will be ashamed of you before my Father."

  Not ashamed. Passing this on . .

Outlawing RE in schools altogether is decidedly PC. Someone needs bungholing with something very blunt. I don't agree with only version of possibility being taught in schools, but this is just cutting off noses to spite faces.

Right, I don't either BigJim. But I do believe that if you so choose to you should be allowed to do so. I mean they teach our children Evolution in our schools. To me that is what is wrong with the world today, God has been taken out! But hey, this issue has been faught for many years, I am only one person and will not attempt to argue this issue, like you said it is just cutting off your nose to spite yourself. I don't think God will ever be permenantly removed from American society.

I'm not a Christian and ten to have a very low opinion of most organised religions. Most people here know my views on that subject, so I'll not delve into them here. (Besides which, that would entail an 80,000 word post!) I am in favour of having the ability to follow anything in schools, so long as it isn't exclusionist. I was in favour of having the right not to swear to "one nation, under God" if that's what they wanted, but going 100% the other way and not allowing any mention of Christianity is frigging dopey. Flawed though it might be (the KJB has an admitted 39,000-odd translation errors) it's part of humanity's heritage. To deny any teaching of it, is idiocy, but so is removing all teaching about evolution. Remember what happened to the teacher who was stupid enough to try that in 1929? He was prosecuted for doubting the truth in a book that has been admitted to have a minimum of nearly 40,000 translation errors. 100% either way, is not right.

But this isn't the place to discuss such topics. Tracy, honey I am so sorry to hear about your Mother and Sis. I am not a religous man but I do believe in some type is higher power. May they be well soon! In the mean time Enjoy my tickles, love to hear you laugh and giggle....perhaps see you wiggle!
