Sir Peter Ustinov, the famous actor, writer, humorist, and UNICEF ambassador has died at the age of 82. His most famous roles were Roman Emperor Nero in "Quo Vadis" and Hercule Poirot in Agatha Christie's classic "Death on the Nile".

He was one of my favorite actors, and I adored his sharp wit and subtle humor. The world will be a bit less bearable without him.

May he rest in peace.

i always loved peter. he had a quiet character and a commanding presence.

i will surely miss him.

Too sad

RIP, Sir Peter.

Didn't he also play Poirot in "Murder on The Orient Express," and the TV series, called "Poirot?"

And dont' forget.....

Charlie Chan and The Curse of the Dragon Queen.

The Sean Man

Didnt know really much about him aside from probably his most rare and unknown work as the narrorater on the 1979 Alec R. Costandinos music video/jap animation film "Winds Of Change".

I always loved the little Belgian detective with the Herculean gray cells. Great character actor 🙁

Ustinov was the fucking man and no mistake...he was immensely talented and god-DAMN could he be funny when he wanted to be and with the slightest effort!

His impressions of Charles Laughton and country bumpkins are one of the only reasons I bought "Spartacus" on DVD...to watch his interviews, which were performance art on their own accord.

The worst thing about an event like this is that it's pandemic...we've been losing so many good actors and comedians lately that we don't seem to realize that they're taking an entire history of bygone eras with them! NOBODY has TALENT like these people anymore! Has anybody ever seen reruns of the Carol Burnett/Flip Wilson/Dean Martin/Jack Benny show? Have you ever seen that level of pure, unrefined talent from ANYONE in this day and age? That seamless and virtually effortless performance that they could pull on a whim? Ustinov was among these now-departed giants despite the fact that his comedy was never requested as often as it should have been.

We only have so many of these people left and they deserve more than a goddamn Lifetime Acheivement Oscar and a cameo appearance in a big A-list movie...they deserve to be put back in the light where they belong and show these young, no-talent cinema-groomed punks what real presence and ability is, and what size shoes they have to fill.

I first noticed Ustinov as the voice of Prince John in Disney's 1973 version of "Robin Hood"...an inimitable and indelible voice as ever I've ever heard, and like so many other sof his kind (Orson Welles, Phil Harris and Mel Blanc just to name a few), we'd trade 50 Ashton Kutchers and Olsen sisters to have him back.

I agree. We are losing our great actors and having them replaced by walking Pepsi commercials.

Sir Peter was one of the true greats and he will be missed.
