Snow Predicted Tuesday Night Into Wednesday-AGAIN!

Yes, Ann. We do get all the fun again.

Adam, I heard something about five inches in Baltimore. Here in Lancaster, they are saying six to ten inches. They are also expecting high winds, and blowing and drifting snow. Supposedly, the forecast is calling for a 70 to 80 percent chance of it to happen, so it looks likely.

Sounds like there's going to be a lot of fun Tuesday and Wednesday.

Mitch

I'm sorry to hear that you have gotten so much snow, ticklebear. I can sympathize. Hopefully, this will be the last storm of this winter season for both of us.

Ugh! Some places don't even have streets cleared yet! Where are they going to put it all? I feel sorry for those in big cities where there's barely room on narrow streets to begin with.

CANCELLATIONS ALREADY AROUND HERE.

They are calling for 5-10 inches here in Central Pennsylvania. Looks like New York might get their share out of this one.

We're getting up to 10 and they've even closed the schools again for tomorrow. I've been trapped in my house since Friday lol. Help. :jester:

The roads are still awful and they're warning people to still stay off of them. Damn it, I want Applebee's and I can't get to it!

Not sure what we'll end up with here yet. The models are calling for anything from a 2-3 inch snowfall to a foot. It all depends on how things track as the two low pressure systems combining to create this mess shove back and forth before they finally merge. We're due for another decent one here. But, those of you who got nailed this past weekend need a break! Unfortunately, it doesn't look like you'll get it any time soon. Hang in there!

We JUST got upgraded to a Winter Strorm Warning.....watching it scroll across the bottom of the screen lol. It's supposed to start tomorrow around 10am and last until Wednesday night. 10 inches is what they're calling for so far but I'm waiting for that to change. 10 inches is what they were calling for this past weekend and we got over two feet of snow and we're trying to recover from that. Tons of people still without power, schools still closed and the roads are still pretty much covered, even the main highways. They have warming centers set up arond the city but what good is it if these poor folks can't get to them? And another 10+? Well hell.

Cabin fever is setting in! I love snow, don't get me wrong, but I hate being trapped. I'm running out of beer damn it. :jester:

Again, for those affected by this bad boy too.....please stay safe!

Angel, I just came home and saw that too about a Warning. Here in Lancaster they are calling for 6 to 12 inches. Considering we have so much already, I can only imagine what that will look like.

Here we "snow" again!

Mitch

Come on over, dough boy! I'm sure all your hot air will be more than enough. It wouldn't just clear walks, it would evaporate the snow completely. 😛

Hmmm... Does the almighty deity get sunburns? If so, I wish you warm sunny days! lol

Since I last posted, Weather Underground posted a new forecast as of 8:30 this evening, which stated that snow amounts greater than one foot are possible in Lancaster, Harrisburg, and York. Channel 6 in Philly says we are going to get 12 to 18 inches, while our own station, WGAL, says up to 12 inches.

The snow amounts really depend on what happens with the Low off the coast. In any event, unless a major change in the forecast occurs unexpectedly, we will be getting a big snowstorm tomorrow night into Wednesday.

Mitch

My local news warned of a possible 14-22 inches for Baltimore. Great. I've got more than 2 feet already and can't drive my car off my street, due to the icy conditions. Looks like I'm stranded for a wee bit longer.

It started here a couple hours ago. We are expecting a real crappy rush hour and many hours of work to push this snow on top of the last one.

You need one of those big snow blower trucks! Stay safe out there! Watch out for idiots!

NOONTIME WEATHER REPORT.

I watched the news at www.abc27.com and they are calling for BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ON WEDNESDAY. An oldtime weather forecaster (25 years), said he DOES NOT REMEMBER TWO STORMS BEING SO CLOSE TOGETHER.

Hasn't hit here in the Valley of Virginia yet. Depending on who tells it, anywhere from 5-20 inches a comin.

Wouldn't be so bad if this area had the gear to handle these sorts of snows. I mean, we got guys in landscaper Bobcats plowing streets. We have I think one or two proper plow trucks. Everything else is a pickup, backhoe, or bobcat. And a couple dudes with snow blowers. No joke on the snow blowers. City guys with snow blowers.

Le Sigh.

Spring in 3 or 4 weeks, tho. Probably be a wet year.

We have a Bobcat right now digging everyone out who's parked on the streets.....which is how I was able to run to the store, which had pretty much nothing on their shelves. I got to leave my house for the first time in days! Giddy up! :bounce: The roads were still pretty shitty though.

Latest storm amount is roughly another foot on top of the over two feet we already have. The crazy storm is supposed to start tonight so bring on round two!

It has started here in The Cumberland Valley, and is starting to lay on the sidewalks and streets. Tomorrow is to be worse, as they are calling for thirty MPH winds.

We have 4 inches on the ground and about 3 to 4 to go, and the winds are really picking up. I'm expecting to be called out after midnight to plow very deep drifts off of roads.

The snow started here several hours ago. One report said Millersville, a town about three miles from me, had four inches as of 9pm. That's a lot of snow to have fallen in such a short time. The current forecast calls for high winds and heavy snow later tonight and tomorrow, with 12 to 18 inches predicted.

Hopefully, the winds wont be too bad, and my power will stay on.

Mitch
