So Bush almost got the boot...

The shoes were intended to strike our President. I'm no fan of Dubya, but would never countenance an attack on the President of the United States, by anyone, anywhere. To protest and express outrage is everyone's right -- albeit hardly guaranteed everywhere. Physical assault crosses a clear boundary.

It's my guess that somewhere in the middle east scientists are hard at work on the cruise shoe.

Well considering that most comedians would rather drink rat poison than do a skit about Obama John Stewart is correct. Just look at all the PC flak that SNL took doing that Paterson skit. I don't recall any bellyaching over the Stevie Wonder skits. When the next term starts political comedy will be dead because no comedians will have the balls to lampoon their political allies. It doesn't really take any guts to lampoon a republican.

Oh, I don't know.....

I'm sure that there will be some political comedy in the new admin....

Hell, he's moving his mother-in-law into the White House... I can only imagine what the Jon Stewarts of the world will do with that.

...And lest anyone forget ... there are the incredibly stupid attempts by the Obama opposition to prove that he isn't eligible to be president..... that he was born somewhere other than where his birth certificate says.

I'm thinking Krypton.... or maybe Vulcan (he does bear a slight resemblence to Tim What's-his-name who played Tuvok the Vulcan on Voyager)

Maybe he wasn't born at all. Maybe he's a construct put together by the same people who built Gort from the day the Earth stood still

'Breaking News Today: Secret Service Tackle President's Mother In Law

Sources say that no one was hurt in the incident, and that the only weapon used was a rolling pin which was supposed to 'knock some sense' into the President. The White House declined to comment...'

:ggrin:

I just wonder how hard you all would be laughing if the shoes had been thrown at Obama-rama instead of the (still) current president. Most of you would want the journalist's head on a platter, if I am to gauge previous thread discussions...

I wonder why anyone would be prompted to throw their shoes at Mr. Obama?

now now KYHawkeye..you know that Bush's head is a perfect target for shoes, pretzels and the like...being twice the size of a normal head..that's why he was targetted..Obama's head is still normal size for now..four or eight years from now...maybe his head will also be twice the normal size..then we will be giggling and laughing about the shoe tossing exploits aimed at Obama..

all is fair in politics and shoe throwing..

If it was Obama or even (ugh) Clinton, I would say the same thing. I have too much respect for the office. It showed much sense of mind on Bush's part to stop the Secret Service from throttling him, in my opinion.

Hey Hey! Good to see you back, kyhawkeye! I was beginning to wonder if we'd lost you.

What everyone seems to have missed is that this reporter did not throw his shoes at George W. Bush. That reporter threw his dirty shoes at THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

This is what people seem to be missing out on. No matter what knucklehead shit George did, that reporter was disrespecting the UNITED STATES with his gesture.

and you miss the point that Bush rather made a farce of that office if you ask me..

well i certainly didn't hail that guy as any hero, yikes why would i?...the word hero is over used in my book..but i understand what you are saying sort of..i don't like how you lumped in Kennedy with those other two however..but i suppose you are entitled..

Yeah ... a huge disgrace ... why? Because he had an affair while president....

That's so much worse than getting us into a needless war in the middle-east, diverting a huge number of our soldiers from their mission to get the man who attacked our country on our own soil back on September 11, 2001 so that he could send them to that needless war, being at the forefront of deregulation of the banking industry along with energy commodities so that our economny (already suffering from diverting tax dollars to that needless war) could slip further toward a depression..... want me to go on? I can.

Yeah... the blow job in the oval office was so much worse.

I don't care if it's Bush's last 25 seconds in office, I want him impeached just so it goes on his record.

And I don't doubt for a second that the shoe throwing was all about Bush and not our nation.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!! You're all so goddamn wrong! I'm right because I have an opinion on politics on the internet and that makes me right OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!

That Shrub guy once offered to massage my balls if I'd vote for him in 2004.

But I was stupid and voted for him in 2000 and he didn't rub my scrotum then, so I wasn't about to fall for that crap again. Last I heard, after he got into the White House, he had a sleepover with Mark Foley, Ted Haggard, Larry Craig, Bob Allen and Glenn Murphy Jr. Mrs. Bush was not invited.

Bush is not well liked by a lot of people over here (uk) ithink in my life he is the worst guy so far, clinton i liked and obamma i'am hoping is going to be a truly great.to be honest if i upset anybody in the USA i'am sorry we only go on what the media tells us and i may be dizzy. but i can see the result of the bush situation and it does not look good. perhaps i should't comment i'am not in the USA.

Its not a needless war when our troops are keeping your sorry ass safe. and clinton getting his pole smoked in the oval office, is the same as spitting in the face of the presidency. Bush may not be the best president, but at he respects the office of the presidency.

He threw a shoe.

Not a brick, not a rock or similar object with same mass. A loving shoe.

And not just one, but 2. And a bad shot at that. I'm sorry, but he's no hero.

That is part of the problem, meteor. You are only seeing what the "New Pravda," otherwise known as the "main-stream" media what you to see. A vast majority of our news media here, rather that giving us the news, has been promoting an anti-Bush agenda from day 1. They've gone out of their way to go after him, which has totally removed any credibility they had left. Kinda imagine that you are Conservative and the news is reported totally from the viewpoint of the Labor party, or vice versa. The press has given a free pass to the incoming president and now are aghast that he won't speak up about the scandal already surrounding the replacement process for his senate seat.

Sadly, the world has been sold a bill of goods that is not totally correct. And, sadly, a vast number of posters here will start the flame process of debunking everything I've said. But, that's my opinion, and I have already attached my response to your incoming posts:
