So how bad a movie is Alexander?

The documentaries about Alexander the Great on the History Channel are a better bet. Besides, if you really like history, Oliver Stone was always a poor choice.

Of course, if you're interested in Alexander's homosexuality, then, by all means, go and see it. I heard it plays an overly large part of the movie, anyway. God Bless America.

Well, I saw the movie... very, VERY tedious and slow moving. The height of tedium.
As for the homosexual angle, I really think it was overplayed. The homosexual scenes themselves were quite strange. There were at least a DOZEN instances where Alexander and his supposed lover (whose name I cannot recall... all the characters had very ponderous names, lol) should have kissed, but they just hugged each other over and over. Then finally Alexander kissed one of "guys" from a mostly female harem he had captured. The scenes seemed to have been put in there purely for shock-value to keep the audience involved in what was essentially a very boring and slow moving plot.

The first thing that is wrong with the film is the accents. Everyone is either from Ireland or Scotland! Huge mistake on Stone's part. Although Colin's acting is good, you never get a sense of why Alexander is such a great leader. The story doesn't allow it. It plays off the father/son and mother/son conflicts more. The battle scenes should be great but they come off as cheap and blurry.

Rosario's acting wasn't very good but her sex scene with Colin is one for the books....her tits are actually perfect.

Angelina is good, but every scene of hers feels like the end of the world is coming and Alexander/her son should stop it from happening. The urgency is a bit much to watch....but again, she looks great.

Jared Leto is actually very good in the film and there are hints of homosexuality, but only one scene with men kissing and it wasn't between Leto and Farrell. Alexander does say to him, "please spend the night with me" and the release the servant from his duty.

Oliver Stone will take a beating from this film in my opinion and it has started...

When people talk about it and can't stop laughing. Maybe Oliver Stone stroking his ego too much!
