Definitely a thread for me.
As I am someone with a
sensory integration disorder - SID - my body will and has reacted differently to different people tickling me. I'm not yet exactly sure why this is so, but my body - at times - will perceive tickling differently. In the majority of the cases, but
not limited to, the variety that tickling has on me is
arousal;
sensory overload - shock;
no effect (not sure why, as I'm usually very ticklish, so this reaction is extremely odd, but rare!);
ticklishness - where I laugh ... like a
normal person.
🙄
The only answer I have for you is that it's related to different nerve paths that are all over the body. Somehow - beats the hell out me - the sensations have the ability to travel to more than just the one part of the body that is being tickled. This also leads me to wonder if possibly the reason why one would be tremendously ticklish somewhere is because the ticklish sensations have a higher concentration in that tickle spot of their's. Not sure if it's true. Just speculation. It might be the opposite, though.
All I know is that when certain parts of my upper body are tickled, I
sometimes get a sharp tingle in my secrets. That's usually why I even get pretty upset when random strangers brush up against me; I don't like the idea that someone might touch me and elicit such a feeling.
😱 Not cool.
