Socks on or off during sex? And Why?

I hooked up with a friend of mine once, and he took off all my clothes, except for my socks. I didn't want to say anything, even though I thought it was kind of odd. And I didn't take them off myself, because of that unwritten rule that you shouldn't take off your own clothes for sex, that the other person has to take them off for you (anyone else know what I'm talking about here, or am I crazy? 😕 ).

But then I finally hooked up with a tickler/foot guy, and for the first hours that we played together, he only took off my socks. I figured that made up for the other thing, that it all balances out in the end. 😀

This thread reminds me of an episode of coupling, where one of the characters is asking what another is planning to do about his socks.

'My advice is to get them off right after your shoes and before your trousers...that's the sock gap. Miss it and suddenly you're a naked man in socks. No self-respecting woman will let a naked man in socks do the squelchy with her'

You're not crazy, but I see it more as a general guideline than a hard and fast rule.

By the time you are having oral sex or intercourse everyone should be naked. If you can't take the time to remove or have removed all of your clothing you are doing something wrong.

Personally, if the rest of him is naked, the socks have to go! Especially now that I've read this thread, he'd be cursing me out after laughing at him.......
