some serious graphic and computer imaging help

It was my brother wedding this past sunday and it was a great day blah blah but my mother decided to use my digital camera which she hasnt used before, which has both still and movie options on it. Anyway there a few still shots but the majority turned out as a movie file, is there anyway they can be put as a jpeg or such also is there a way were a clear still screen cap can be taken and put it as an image that way.

I thank you for any help this means a a lot to my mother and when I found out she was in tears is breaking me up now as I speak.

I know this can be done. But, not having done it myself, I can't tell you how. I'll point a friend who knows to this thread. In the meantime, you might want to let us know what programs you have...both pic editting and video editting...on your system. It won't be until this evening since she's at work. So, if nobody else responds before then, look for something tonight.

K thanks im jus pretty much Windows XP pro and "picture package" that came with the sony camera. Um see it doesnt matter what programs I need etc cause I will go out and get em its got to that point.

If you've got XP, their movie maker should be able to pull stills from the clips. I'd have gotten back to you sooner. But, something came up just after posting my response and I plumb forgot. Sorry about that! I just shot off an e-mail to the friend in question in case I have another brain fart before I talk to them later.

I use irfanview, which is a program Haltickling told us about some time ago....

go to http://irfanview.com/

download the free program. Upload your movie to your computer. Use Irfanview to open the file and it will give you the option to pull all of the frames....

Everything can then be saved and each frame can be converted to jpgs.
