Well, I found out some scary news today. A guy I know is being deployed to Iraq next Saturday. He's a sargent in the Marines. I actually dont know him personally, but his mother in law is a friend of ours, and I've met his wife on several occasions. I pray for his safety, and of course all the other servicemen in Iraq and around the world. This soldier just became a father about two weeks ago, and it seems sad that he was deployed so soon after his first child was born. His wife will be coming to Lancaster for several months to live with her family here while he's over in the Mideast. The time frame he was given was that he will be away until at least November, but as we all know, nothing is a given with any service deployment. Good Luck, Tim, and may God watch over you, and all of our other brave men and women in uniform.

One of my wife's best friends is living on an army base in Germany while her husband is stationed in Iraq.
They have a second baby girl that he has never seen yet!!!
He has seen as many photos of his daughter as I have!!!
He couldn't get any leave to see his new born...

Bush's draft will be going into effect shortly, so you'll see him soon.
 
i got friends over there right now as well mitch and i too hope for their safe and quick return. my friends are with the 101st airborne airassault division.
 
i know a few guys over there

i know 4 guys that have been there and are all back now.
3 of the 4 already have orders for their units to be re-deployed back to iraq. and know what? all 3 are looking forward to going back!
good troops, all of them.

btw ,it takes an act of congress to start the draft again.
what's more, bush has gone on record as being against the draft!
i do wish you knee jerk liberal bush haters would think before you spout stupidlity.

My prayers are with all of our service men and women who are risking their lives over there. My seventeen-year-old son just got his dad to sign permission for him to go to Army basic training this summer. A classmate of my twenty-one-year-old was killed there on Easter Sunday. Politics aside, as a mom, I'm terrified. I want to support my son, but I don't want him to go.

Thanks, Mitch. In the two weeks since I found out they did this without talking to me it has been on my mind constantly. Kids grow to be adults, but moms never stop thinking of them as their babies.
