I have no way to know if this is legit or not. (And pardon if this has already been posted here.)

While many have said for years that these old renfaire style videos could never be done in the post-#MeToo era, I believe with extensive disclosure and consent in place, it absolutely could be done legally. Whether the big renfaire festival managers would agree to it is another matter, of course.

But does anyone here know more about this?

Seems like an awful lot of time, trouble, and expense, when it'd be cheaper just to pay for a custom video.
The "public" element is going to be a very hard sell, and how do you pitch that without raising red flags?

I take your point. There is, I'd say, a pretty big difference to a lot of people (like me) between an average, normie walking at a renfaire, who shrugs and says "Hey, why not?" to a minute or two of tickling stocks medieval role play, versus a professional fetish model who gets paid to make fetish videos. Again, maybe not to everyone, but to me for sure. That's a big part of this.

Regarding the sell, I'm not sure if you mean the pitch to the renfaire organizers or the pitch to the passersby. I think getting a renfaire organizer to agree to it would be the hardest part, by far, although I do think it's possible, if the clear, advance disclosure was emphasized. Some people do think of tickling as platonic and harmless. But presuming it was somehow actually there, having been to a few renfaires myself, and seeing the large collection of alternative, experimental, fringe and half-crazy people who show up to such a thing, I think a lot of people actually would volunteer for a "Ye Olde Tickling Stocks for Disrespectors of the King."

I've been to and worked at plenty of renfaires, and yes, tickling does occur quite often; we had a set of stocks set up, and it was pretty common. And you're right, there are plenty of kink-friendly individuals there. Met more than one girlfriend here. Hell, the Larkspur Faire in Colorado had at least two leather workers that sold bondage gear (probably still do) and a shop that sold nothing but feathered masks, boas, fans, and yes, "Tickle Sticks". But that was before the internet, and anyone running a faire now would see red flags in your plans immediately. Let me be clear, there's absolutely nothing wrong with your fantasy; I just think you'd have more success finding like-minded folk to set up a small, semi-private event than to try to integrate with what are now corporate entities, with HR departments.

I actually don’t disagree with anything you just wrote.

And to be clear, the original post about the fundraising effort has nothing to do with me. If I ever were to effort such a thing, which I wouldn’t, it wouldn’t even dawn on me to create a fundraiser for it. Seems like a weird fit. But are renfaires “corporate”? I don’t know, but would have assumed they’re owned and run privately and independently — meaning some wealthy, local mavericks, the type that own auto dealership, fast food or laundromat chains, bankroll these kinds of things for fun.

The big ones are corporate; you're talking at least 100K visitors each season, per faire, and they generate their own income. The big Colorado Faire is $27 a head just to get in, and there's an audition and hiring process just to work there. Smaller local ones are usually fundraisers for other entities. You might have some luck finding a local faire and seeing how you could volunteer.

Long story short; fake the entire fair. Do it on private land and set it up like "a real fair", but the only people on site know it's fetish shit and just pretend like it's not. Elaborate, time consuming and likely not sufficient for those who actually think you could yank normies off the street and tickle them for any extent of time, but that's one way you could make a legitimate renfair vid.

I have no way to know if this is legit or not.

It's one of those Russian fetish studios that thinks they're being oh-so-clever by labeling what they're doing "reflexology research". So it's "legit" in the sense that they're probably trying to do whatever it is they're raising money to do, but it's not legit in the sense that they're not researchers and they're trying to fly under the radar.

Does any other fetish try to pull this bullshit as often as foot ticklers do? It's getting tiresome.

Yeah, never understood the “inflicting it on unsuspecting normies” thing (I’m sure there are some who’d say the same about my interests), when it’s so much easier to get what you want just by asking.

No, and it’s hilariously ironic that most of them don’t seem to know that:
Most women are okay with many fetishes (as long as they get their cookies, too);
A good foot massage is highly regarded, if you don’t make it creepy.

Just for the record, there's a distinction between "inflicting it on unsuspecting normies" and "inflicting it on fully informed normies who consent to it simply for the attention, adventure, fun or 'what the hell, why not?' aspect."

We're all free to like what we like, of course, but that is a difference, and a pretty important one to me.

See, this is where I'm gonna get flamed, but...okay. Since you wanted to make that distinction;

Does "fully informed" mean that you're informing them this whole thing has been constructed for your own sexual pleasure?
That's the issue with having a fetish that other people don't necessarily recognize as sexual. The furtive aspect, combined with, "What's the big deal, it's not a sexual thing!" It is, just not to most people. Sure, someone might figure it out (my wife knew what I was into before we started dating), but it's not certain. And that's what you're banking on, that they'll assume it's not sexual.
I'm not saying you have to tell them.
I'm not saying you need to tell them.
I seriously doubt there's any law you'd be breaking.
And, clearly, they're doing something of their own free will.
But they're not fully informed, and if a photo or a video shows up on the internet, in this context, and someone comes lookin' for you, the guy who set it up, you're gonna have a hard time playing innocent.

That's all I'm saying.
And that's why I'm suggesting you set something up with people who have full knowledge of what's going on, because, frankly, they're more likely to enjoy it.

And, no, I'm not going to explain why it seems to be "okay" in Italy or France. It's just different there.

I'm willing to bet a shiny nickel that it's only "okay" because the faire organizers don't know what's going on. Friendly reminder that the reason they stopped doing it at Canelli was that Marco got caught and banned.

Did not know that, thanks for the info!

I don't quite understand this with Canelli, they banned Marco but somehow missed the fact that others were following on from Marco with the stocks. How did they not notice? I'm sure they would have been on high alert after Marco was kicked out.

I haven't hyper-analyzed the situation down to the last autistic detail. All I know is - and Myriads, Jeff, or someone with a better memory than I can correct me on this - the organizers of the faire made an account here and posted that Marco was no longer allowed at their events because of what was going on with the stocks. That's all I know, and that's all I care to know. Why so many of you are obsessed with this renfaire shit is quite frankly beyond me.

Because not much is known and if people are curious then they will ask. And what's with the autistic detail? No need to be a dick about it.

I think part of it is the knowledge that it's not something you could easily get away with using so-called "normies" in this day and age; someone whips out a camera, you know it's going to be on the internet, and if the same thing keep showing up from the same source, you're busted.
