Something that stunned me!!!!!

My parents always knew I was hiding something about my sexuality from them and they were always curious about it. They told me lots of times that it didn't matter if I was gay or bi etc, etc, etc... that anything was acceptable between two consenting adults these days.
Today the conversation got around to this and I "came out" to them. Three things then suprised me in quick order. The first was that dad had known about my foot fetish for years. The second was that he had one too!!! (Although not to the all consuming degree I have.) The third suprise was mum telling me that the first thing she'd always looked at on a guy was his shoes. Anyhow, by the time I got up off the floor, I was wondering if this was what it appeared to be, or if it was coincidence.
Can these intricate aspects of a person's sexuality be passed on down the generations? If it is a coincidence, then it's the biggest one I've ever heard of.
I'd be very interested in hearing anyone else's experiences or thoughts in this vein. Does anyone out there have something similar happen to them, or have they heard of it elsewhere? Drop a line guys and girls.

Congratulations that you were able to talk to your parents about such a personal issue--and so successfully!

I don't think it is hereditary, but patterns could tend to form.

They would have to do a study to understand where in the the brain fetishes form. I would think it could be passed down although I've always been more a proponent of environment over genetics. I'm pretty sure that I'm the only one with any 'abnormal' sexuality in my family.

That's great that you can confide in your folks about this. You definitely have a very different relationship with yours than I do with mine 🙂 .

I'm glad to hear telling your folks went so well. I doubt there is anything hereditary going on, but you never know. I recently told my sister (who I'm very close to) about how much I love being tickled - if she checks it out with her boyfriend and she's feels the same I'll let you know...but we're so similiar, it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Yes, I have always had a real close relationship with my parents. Even now that I'm a month short of my 24th birthday, have a car, two pension schemes, life asurrance and soon a mortgage *gets on his knees and prays* I'm still best friends with them. They always told me that there wasn't anything I could'nt tell them, no matter how serious. Even so I always felt the need to hold my cards close to my chest on this one. It wasn't because I felt they wouldn't understand or be tolerant; it was because I felt I had to come round to dealing with the feelings in my own time.
When I was a young teenager I felt as I would guess a lot of gay people do. I sweated buckets, worrying about turning out to be some sort of deviant pervert. It took years to come to terms with my feelings myself and once that happened, it was inevitable that I'd talk to the family about it sooner or later.
MicA, you could be right.It might have been caused by enviroment.But if this is the case, then it was totally subliminal and it must have happened fast; because I was conscious of a foot fetish from the age of four or five.(Although I didn't understand it fully until much later.)I'm sorry to hear you don't feel as confident about your folks, but you never know, they might be suprised. And even if you never feel that confident, there's thousands of us fellow "abnormals" around here now and you can always talk to any one of us mate.
Ayesha, that'd be intersting to discover if it does prove to be true. Keep us informed, okay? (For scientific purposes of course *WEG* )

Jim, so far as I know, I'm the only member of my extended family with this kink...with one possible exception.

Scene in my living room, Christmas Vacation: Both daughters, ages 9 and 22, lying on the floor watching TV.

Older girl: "It's chilly in here."

Younger girl: "I'll get a blanket and roll you up like a burrito."

Older girl plays along. Big mistake on her part.

Younger girl: "MUAHAHAHA! TICKLE FIGHT!" and attacks sister's feet.

Older girl: "Hey! No fair! Stahahap! HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

I'm convinced that the little one is one of us...

Cute story Strel. Sounds a lot like my house when I was a kid.

I don't know about all of this being hereditary. But, I do know that my folks and several other relatives have enjoyed many a tickle with one another. Perhaps they were partly responsible for opening our eyes to something we had a natural liking for to begin with?
