SOPA Is apparently back

So, for those unaware (and I'm going with all of us, since I only found out just now), the infamous SOPA is back. -.- If you forget what that is or just never knew, it's a bill Congress is trying to pass. It's basically a blanket ban on anything "pirated," AKA anything copyright. So YouTube FanFiction (!!!), Tumblr, Deviant Art... Any of those sites you can think of, well, they're going to be gone if this passes. They all involve material that is copyrighted, so the government will have the power to delete the sites if SOPA passes.

There's a petition up that needs 100,000 signatures by the 19th. It has almost 40K right now. Basically, we need to spread the word, for the third*time, and stop the stupid thing.

I'm not sure if this involves this site or any of these sites, but I don't wanna take the chance. >< I love this site too much ><

I signed it. Though I have a feeling even if we meet the signatures needed and if they back off, they're just going to try to pass SOPA again, possibly later this year. The government really, really wants more control over the internet and its use.
