Perhaps...
...but I've heard several good things about driving standard-shift. For one thing, you have more control over the car. I've also been told that it's a lot more fun, and that once you start driving standard shift, you don't ever want to go back to automatic.

Over my vehicle purchasing/driving lifetime I have gone back and forth from standard to auto trannie and have now settled forever more on the automatic having just sold my Toyota Celica GT(Standard) for a SUV(Chevy Trailblazer). Had to back to 4WD too.

Back when I had a car......
........it was a plymouth sundance with auto trans. Everytime you shifted gears, there was a sound like a muffled sawed off shotgun blast and the whole car shimmied. Not to mention the oil gusher squirting all over the motor which made for such a pleasant odor when stuck in traffic on 90 degree days........
Strangely enough, I actually miss that car. I think it and I had very similar personalities 😀
