Who's going to win?

Of course I'll be rooting for the Wings, but will there be a first time team like the last few years? (Tampa Bay and Carolina) If so I think it'll be either San Jose or Anaheim.

Ticklingfeet4fu, do you get CBC where you live? I hope so, their coverage is fantastic, Versus and NBC have sad broadcasts...

GO WINGS!

Eastern Conference: Buffalo, NJ or Ottawa
Western Conference: ANY team can make it.

As much as I think it won't happen, I'd love to see Vancouver vs. Ottawa for the cup. Realistically, if Luongo stays hot, I'd say Vancouver and Buffalo.

I actually think that Mike " Doc " Emrick is the best NHL broadcaster in the game. He is funny and on top of everything that is going on. I heard the CBC last night with the Devils and Lightening last night and they didn't even pronounce names right last night.

A moment of silence please for the Atlanta Thrashers, who taught us that it takes more than one line to go all the way and to never trade away Dany Heatley. 🙂

One down, 15 to go.

Hate to say this, but I have had the unfortunate misfortune to watch the CBC broadcast. You can ask Sadira. Their broadcast of the Tampa Bay/New Jersey series has been awful. Their play by play is awful. They pronounce names wrong. Unless the Devils got some new players wearing the same faces and uniforms. I am not sure but these guys doing play by play are missing plays and are calling penalties that aren't there. Like the end of the 3rd period when Vincent Lecavalier was hit in the face with the puck they were calling for a penalty on John Madden claim he hit Lecavalier with a high stick. Then when they see the replay, they say " oh it was the puck that hit him." Well " OH " CBC!!! 😡 Watch the play and call it fair. Let the referee's call the penalities and try to focus on the game. :imouttahe

CBC gives their best broadcasters to games involving Canadian teams. I'd have to agree with the original poster man, CBC rocks. Only Ken Daniels and Mickey Redmond for FSN Detroit do a better job... although, CBC does have Don Cherry, but he's not in the booth, so that doesn't count.

I beg to differ. Fact is, Sadira is a Wings fan and she doesn't like the FSN Detroit announcers. They are bigtime homers. It is like they are on their knees while they are doing the broadcasts. As far as the CBC Rocking, all the announcers for the CBC rocked was my stomach :xlime: . They didn't know things about some of these players that I would think that a hockey broadcaster should know. They don't know how to announciate names. In fact, they are butchering names. The CBC has been a big disappointment in my opinion.

I've been watching the CBC for the TB/NJ series, unfortunately that's their C or D team broadcasting that series, I have never heard of those guys. Watch the CBC for the Wings/Flames series, they have their best broadcast guys doing the series with Canadian teams in them.

Brodeur looked great yesterday, I hope he passes Roy for most shutouts in NHL playoff history soon.

Yeah, well thank goodness it is on NBC today at 1:00pm EDT. Now I can listen to a REAL play by play guy in " Doc " Emrick who gets the names right and will actually follow the action as it is happening. :xpulcy: :dogpile:

The Devils move on to see Ottawa. They eliminate the Tampa Bay Lightning. :rotate: :dogpile: :xpulcy: :couch: :bouncybou Now that they are gone, up next Ottawa comes to our playground. If the Rangers are as good as the fans on WFAN are talking them up to be, :xlime: then the Rangers should see us in the Eastern Conference Finals. But my feeling is it will be us shuffling off to Buffalo. :woot: 😀

Im hoping the the Rangers pull it off this year. But I really dont care who wins as long as the Wings dont. God I hate them! :Grrr:

Who's Sadira?

Of course they're homers. Its Fox Sports DETROIT. As for being on their knees, no way. Did you watch the playoffs the past few seasons? Mickey was ripping them for being too soft, not playing hard, etc.

If you do a member's search, you will find out that Sadira is the hostess to the Michigan Gathering we do here in Bay City. We have doing this party for the last two years. If you listen or watch Fox Sports NEW YORK they are NOT HOMERS. I guess when you come from the Media Capital of the World like I do from New York a Big City/Town like Detroit will come up small. If they wanted to be anything like the New York market, you ACT like the New York Market. Report the games impartially. 🙄 By the way, Chicago and St.Louis and Atlanta are on their knees too when they do broadcasts as well. :ermm:

When the Red Wings have won they've had a million people at each of their parades. When the Devils win they have their parade in a parking lot. :yowzer:

Who's small?

If the Wings and Devils play like they did yesterday, after next week we won't have to worry about it anyways. Shooting over the glove hand of Broduer proved to be a weakness, while San Jose completely outplayed the Wings..

That still does not mean that your announcers are on their knees when they do games. The announcers here stink. That is fact!!!

As far as the Devils and Wings, you want to count your team out that is fine, but Brodeur was down 2 to 1 to Tampa Bay and they beat Tampa Bay. So being down 1-0 to Ottawa is no big deal. As far as Brodeur having weaknesses then explain 93 career playoff wins and 494 career regular season wins. When everything comes out in the wash Brodeur and the New Jersey Devils WILL be in the Eastern Conference Finals.

lol, I never said I was counting the Wings out. I just said both teams have to play MUCH better to advance. You know I'm a huge fan of Brodeur, but when you get beat in the same spot so often in one period, it could be a cause for concern because Ottawa will be trying to shoot there, which could then open up another hole.

Time for Datsyuk and Zetterberg to show their mettle and see if they'll really become superstars in this league.

I was out of it for a bit...

... since the Leafs traded Wendle Clark to Quebec a few years back. Now my payback is in the form of Suporting the Ottawa Senitors. I'm still not sure of who all the players are aside from the "Super Stars" like Sid "the kid: Crosby for example. I thinks it's been a pretty intence serries, and Hockey naysayers don't know what they are missing.

Being a Canuck I hope it is Vancouver and Ottawa, not just for the fact that I am Canadian, but because of the BS the NHL is pulling with giving away games to NBC while charging the CBC big bucks to show them. Canucks vs Sens would fuck them up good.

And with that, the Eastern conference final is set. The contenders:

The Buffalo Sabres vs. The Ottawa Senators (My team!)

Sabres will win if they stay out of the box and actually use the depth of talent that they have. Sens will win if the top line keep performing like they have and Emery stays sharp. Going by how they both played in round 2 and against each other during the regular season, I'm saying:

OTTAWA WINS IN SIX GAMES.

I think Buffalo will push them to 7, but I agree that the Sens will win (well I hope they do). And I actually hope the Ducks make it to the finals so we can see the Canucks avenged by their fellow Canadian team.

If Detroit wants to have a good chance against the Ducks they had better win tonight to get a little mental and physical rest before the next series. I'd love to see Ottawa vs. Detroit. Ottawa has been close for so long, but I wouldn't be rooting for them of course 🙂.

And now, the Western Conference Final:

DETROIT RED WINGS vs. ANAHEIM DUCKS

This is close. This is really close. Either way, it'll be a tight, low-scoring series. I think it's going to come down to which goaltender cracks first. I think that Anaheim is slightly better rounded and a little younger, so I'm calling.

ANAHEIM IN SEVEN GAMES.

Sorry tcklguy.

No need to apologize, everyone has their opinion...and perhaps you might be right.

I know the NHL would love for this to go 7 games....again if Datsyuk and Zetterberg play like superstars, then Detroit should win..it depends on who wins the matchup between those two and Niedermeyer and Pronger...everything else is as even as it gets, it should be fun.

Buffalo in 6 against Ottawa 😛

and i hope it'll be Buffalo vs Red Wings with Buffalo taking it in 5 games (maybe 6)...that way Buffalo can exercise all their demons of the past (Ted Nolan(who's team was dispatched first...NY Islanders),John MucklerGM of the Senators) 😡 , and Dominik Hasek(Red Wing) ).

I'd like to see Ottawa win but I don't think they will they always choke during the playoffs and Buffalo is a good team. Since neither the sabers or the ducks have ever won the cup I wouldn't mind seeing either of them take it.

Detroit had GOLDEN chance to take command of this series yesterday!! Anaheim played really good hockey and deserved the win. When Detroit tied the game at 3 they could've rolled over, it's going to be a dogfight now.

Time for Datsyuk to step it up...
