STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS!!!!

Looks like it's shaping up to be a Red Wings/Penguins rematch.

The Hawks completely imploded in Game 4. They were coming off a huge OT victory, and playing at home while Red Wings went without their Hart Trophy candidate AND the greatest defensemen of the past 20 years. Instead of playing their game, the Hawks were too busy trying to goon it up in retaliation of Kronwall's hit on Havlat, while their coach was too busy bitching about the officiating. Meanwhile the Wings weren't phased by that lousy call, as Stuart lined up Havlat as he again skated up center ice with his head down.

Pens are annihilating Carolina. Perhaps the Canes are just too worn down from their back-to-back 7 game series.

Well the Penguins better be careful of the Deja Vu effect... oh yeah I should say that I'm officially declaring the finals to be Detroit and Pittsburgh, though if Chicago wins the series I will title a thread either called "MIRACLE OF GOD" or "HOLY MOTHER OF GOD" and say what an amazing team they are. 😛 Though I personally liked what the Penguins did when they held/touched the Eastern Conference Trophy: they're not afraid of no ghosts or curses cuz they all touched the trophy which is supposed to be a curse.

The sad thing I think is that Carolina had gas, Cam Ward did not. Back-to-back 7 game series, both of which you had to make many saves and most games where your team got outshot, not to mention how many games in both the New Jersey and Boston series went to overtime!!! - saying he was fatigued would be a gross understatement.

As for Chicago, assuming they're not coming back, they are a young team and I'm impressed that in their first trip back to the postseason in a long time they made it to the Conference finals. In Crosby's first run, to give some perspective, they got shelled by Ottawa in 5 games and since that point he's done consecutive Stanley Cup Finals. Chicago will be back: they're too good and too young a team not to make it.

I believe in miracles

Wings look like the soviet team too

Datysuk and Lindstrom out tonight

Bulin and Havlat out as well

all i can say about that game is wow. what a damn game! i think having lidstrom and datsyuk out made a difference, however, huet played his ass off, too!! i have to give credit where it's due, you know? finals will be fun to watch!

Well, I knew the odds were against the Hurricanes beating the Penguins, but I figured we'd at least win ONE game.

So, the cup is going to be a rematch.

I think, this time.... the Penguins are gonna win. Those guys are unstoppable. Plus, Satan is on their team.... 😉

Detroit got off to a great start last night...9 straight Game 1 wins in the playoffs, pretty impressive.

Malkin and Crosby are unstoppable.... until they go up against a team that actually plays defense. Detroit is up 2-0, and rookie Justin Abdelkader, who averages 5 minutes a game and is playing in his first Stanley Cup Playoffs, now has more goals in this series than Malkin and Crosby combined.

Crosby slashes Maltby after Game 1, Malkin attacks Zetterberg after Game 2. The Penguins are frustrated, and it's hilarious to watch.

Go Wings!

Yeah, I missed that one... Then again, I thought the Canes had a chance against the Penguins.

Terrible collapse by the Wings last night. They had the game in their pocket, up 2-1 and going on a second straight power play. Then they give up a short handed breakaway, and 3 goals in a manner of 6 minutes. They desperately need Datsyuk back.

Interesting fact: The team finishing the game with more shots on goal has lost every game this series.

i'm still thinking its going to go the distance but i'm also still thinking the wings will be lifting the cup once again.
