This is a questions for the star wars fans out there. Just wondering how many of you are going to try to see ep 2 the opning night, and how many of you are going to do somthing specile for that night. Dress as your fave Character, wear a lightsaber, somthing. I just want to see how many out there are as crazy as me. I know it not tickling related, but come on, you guys cant tell me ya wouldnt want to see portman get it. Tickle town has a scene that they say might be a tickle scene in ep2. it wouldnt surprise me, I allways thought Lucas was one of us. anyway I thought Id show off my creation so here it is, and If anyone wants to know how to build one dont hesitate to ask, its cheep and its pretty easy.

Lightsaber May the force be with you, Always

Actually, I'm going to the noon show opening day with about six friends and were doing the whole Jedi robes thing....

...Put those eyebrows back down! Like you didn't see that coming...🙄

That's a cool replica...is that the one you can get the plans for that uses the sink trap? You can build a really good one out of things you find at the hardware store. There are a few sites that even sell conversion kits that allow you to add argon blades and switches to replicas you've already built.😎

Last year, my best friend and I took on apprentices, well, I took on an apprentice, he took on a padawan learner. We've all constructed lightsabers out of various piping and have all planned our respective Jedi or Sith attire. I have no picture at the moment, but I'll get one soon enough. We're going to see Ep. II first, then we'll fight at the theatre until they kick us out, fight with our plastic lightsabers not the personally constructed ones, wouldn't want to get arrested now. Then we're going to another theatre in town and fighting there until we get kicked out. Actually, I pulled parts off of several plastic lightsabers to create my own. I didn't want to fight with a staff and I don't quite like the looks of this new cane saber. It's also pretty hard to find an old Darth Vader saber, so instead I cut apart Maul's, Obi-Wan's, Qui-Gon's sabers. I used both the blades out of Maul's saber to make one blade, then reinforced it with a wooden rod, no need to inform the Jedi at the moment. So to answer your question, no, you're not alone in your craziness about Star Wars, but then again, I doubt anyone of us ever doubted it with Dave around.

Now you see that evil will always triumph, because good is dumb!

Actually, as heretical as it may sound, I figure opening day is likely to be a madhouse; and I can hold out a week or until the crowds calm down, whichever comes first. Besides, my brother doesn't return to Jersey from Arizona until June, and I ain't leaving him out if I can avoid it.

As for doing anything "special" at the theater, I subscribe to the doctrine that everyone has paid $7.50 to see the movie, not my antics, so the Vader & Fett helmets/lightsabers/blasters are staying home. About the most I'd dress up is to wear one of my Star Wars T-Shirts (probably the one from Dark Horse with the Adam Warren drawing of Vader & Ben Kenobi dueling Manga-Style) and ball caps (with the home-painted New Republic Flight Technician's logo), maybe with a few enamel pins if I feel ostentatious enough.

Not to demean any of you that are going in costume, but my brother reports this amusing story. There are a couple of grotesquely obese guys in Jedi robes (Mad Kalnod's Ninth Law: Do NOT wear a Starfleet/Jedi uniform if you couldn't pass the Academy physical exam) camped out at the theater near him, putting on mock lightsaber duels and blasting John Williams CDs untill the movie opens. My bro and his roomie plan to dress up in Western garb and sit in front of the same theater, bragging about being first in line to see "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron!"😛 :blaugh:

Guys, I really wouldn't start dueling until you get kicked out. It gives us a bad name.😀

And actually, I'm not wearing the robe for any special occasion...I had a friend make me a black one that passes for a long hooded cloak anyway, and I pretty much wear it out all the time anyway. It's comfortable.😎

Leave the bizzarre antics to the Trekkies! 🙄

And guys, just remember one thing if anyone wants to pick on you here because of your love of Star Wars...

...these are people who tie each other up and tickle each other, fer Crissakes! 😀

Oh wait...I'm one of those...:wow:

Yes, I'll be seeing EpII twice opening day. I won't be wearing or doing anything to stick out. I don't do that kind of stuff. My collection of memorabilia is what gives me away.

i hate crowds. last time i went to a star wars movie on opening day was for star wars: a new hope special edition. a mistake for someone afraid of big crowds. ill go on the second or probably the third day. i managed to get a private showing of return of the jedi cause i waited till it was almost finished running then went on a rainy tuesday afternoon. that was cool as hell. only one there. i moved around all over the place. the whole thing with costumes and lightsabers hasnt really caught on here. it mostly just annoys all the movie goers. during the phantom menace 2 guys in the front row did bring lightsabers and were dueling during the opening credits. until the entire theater nearly revolted and a guy who had to be 6 foot 6 easy and sitting directly behind them 2 rows back stood up and asked them how theyd like to eat those lightsabers. with that and the majority of the theater screaming at them to shut up i guess they decided to catch the next show cause they went out the fire exit before the usher ever had a chance to see what the yelling was about. iv never seen another costume or toy in the theater and i think thats a good thing. a star wars tshirt will do fine

Why did I know you would have something for that? 🙄

Seriously though, leave the "homage" stuff for outside the theater, nobody likes to deal with that crap once a film starts. I remember something like Drkjedi's story happening when I saw one of the Star Trek flix in the theater and it ruined the whole thing.😎

Oh, I don't plan to duel during the movie, nor inside the theatre, rather after the movie in the lounge. I would never be so rude as to interupt a Star Wars movie. It's just something we do in our town I guess, we did the same thing at Lord of the Rings. I'm a year away from being twenty, I guess I'm just trying to get in as many kicks as possible before trying to act grown up, but to be honest, I don't see that happening soon. I promise we won't hurt anyone, nor will we challenge innocents in the area.

Hell Dude, I was 24 this month and you're positivley ADULT compared to me! LOL I have to admit that I will be doing the whole dressing up thing for the movie when I go with some friends. I even bought myself a lightsabre for the occasion. Sadly I'm too busy saving up for GLAT and the next NEST to buy one of those cool EL bladed ones from www.lightechindustries.com, so I had to make do with a plastic Anakin style one instead.

And Ven, why is it your sig gif's are nothing but red crosses to me, but everyone else can see them? Does God hate me, or is my PC just up the shitter?

The term adult usually indicates someone is older than thirty to me, that's when I intend to stop acting like a fool anyway. Those lighted blades are very alluring, but my they are expensive. We made sabers to wear on our belts, than we bought plastic ones to fight with, I bought three and combined them so that I could have a single bladed red saber. I also created my own Sith character, Darth Malosin, that was years before Darth Maul, now people tend to think I'm ripping him off, but I'll stay the course. Ah, good, it's thursday, how exciting. That was the longest week of my life. Enjoy the movie everyone.

*Jim and Cosmic are in the main server building for the lightsabre web-site. Jim is on his back, with his head underneath a console examining some circuit boards, while Cosmo anxiously awaits the verdict.*

Aha! I think I can see what the problem is no Cos! Hand me that wrench will you? *Cosmo hands Jim the spanner*

Now lets see if this'll work. *Jim whacks the circuit boards with the spanner and lumps of mashed plastic and metal fly in all directions*

I clicked on the link myself Cosmo and it said the page was unnatainable. However when I typed the addy into my browser and hit "Go" it went straight to the site. *shrugs* Don't know why, but that should work for you too.

Found problem, I have.

When you put the link in there was a little comma at the end gumming up the works.

Try This

BTW very cool site.

www.lightechindustries.com Please God, let that work!

P.S. If there was a comma there DC, I'm confused as hell, because the link DID work for a short time. 😕 😕 😕
