Star Wars Fans!!

That's pretty over the top, even for a star wars fan like me, lol! *ignites saber* 😀

I'm not even that much of a star wars fan and I kind of want one 😉

Save yourself some money, guys. If you really want a super-cool lightsaber replica, go to MasterReplicas.com and get one from there. First off, for those of you who want more than just a hilt and want a blade as well, check out thier "ForceFX" series. These are faithful reproductions of the lightsaber props, complete with a blade consisting of 64-72 very bright LED lights chained in sequence to give the look and feel of an igniting lightsaber blade. Also, the ForceFX line has built-in digitaly captured sound for power-up, power-down, swing and clash. I own the Vader replica and the Anakin (Episode III) replica and they are truly awesome. Big plus here...they run about 119.00 US. While you can't actually bash the shit out of them, they will hold up to some fairly active dueling...I've gone at it with a friend of mine from my Katana dojo...of course in the dark and somewhat enhanced with Mother Nature...and the experience was very cool, to say the least.

The Force FX line hilts run (with the NEW line) about 7% oversize to accomodate the electronics, but it's barely noticable.

For you hardcore collectors, they also carry EXACT replicas of the hilts alone for around 300-350 dollars (no blade), but these go way beyond reproductions and are built to the EXACT specifications of the hilts actually used in the films. Every blade from Luke's Episode IV blade to Yoda's blade are faithfully recreated to exact specs. The Signature line of hilts come with certificates of authenticity and there are even a few signed models.

If you're going to collect, do it right.

(Just for the record...the "Prize Piece" of my entire Star Wars collection...and it IS extensive...is a Luke Skywalker lightsaber hilt prop that was actually used in "Return of the Jedi". I got it at an auction in Los Angeles back in the late '80's....you don't even want to know what I paid for that little piece of cinematic history...) 😎

I was going to say the same thing, Dave. You're better off owning an authentic, OFFICIAL piece. The designs on that site are nice, but I wouldn't buy from them.

If they make an FX version of Palpatine's lightsaber be sure to let me know. I don't own a lightsaber but I'd like to own this one. I like his saber. Its classy, sleak, nice brassy color and elegant looking. Its not too busy looking, and its got a unique grip design. That and he's my favorite, so...😛

If we ever meet I shalt challenge you to a duel! I have practice with rapiers and foils, etc, so I'd probably be a challenge for you. 😛

But...we'd better be careful. Wouldn't want to break the preciousesss.......😛

I'd have an FX sabre if only the smeggers would build one with a detachable blade. How the smeg are you supposed to wear the bloody thing on your belt?

www.lightechindustries.com are pretty good, but the blades are dim by comparison and the useless buggers can't do sound without having about 50lbs of extra kit strapped to your forearm.

The plastic Hasbro things are better than both. 🙁

MasterReplicas does not yet have Palpatine's blade in the ForceFX series, but they do have the hilt as part of the Signature line. It really is a beautiful piece of hardware.

I'd be up for a duel...although I do have almost two decades of Katana training, so the challenge should be two-fold. :Hyrdrogen

Oh, by the way...MasterReplicas carries a line for the display collectors. They are scaled-down models of every lightsaber hilt, at .45 scale. Meant more for display purposes, they are small, but exact in thier styling. Each comes with a display stand and they run about 35-50 dollars. They even make a glass-enclosed, three-tier display case for multiple pieces.

That is awesome!!! I WISH I could get a piece of the movies like that. Back in the 80s I was looking for some 'Blue Harvest' production stuff and that was pretty rare even back then. Dang, man, too cool.

Although back in 1985 a friend of mine brough one of the old camera flash devices, that his dad had around his house, to school - before we even knew what these things were - and we were all blown away... he had Luke's 'actual' light saber! He was the coolest guy in my world for about half a day.

I bet Graflex are laughing all the way to the bank. :blaugh:
