Save yourself some money, guys. If you really want a super-cool lightsaber replica, go to MasterReplicas.com and get one from there. First off, for those of you who want more than just a hilt and want a blade as well, check out thier "ForceFX" series. These are faithful reproductions of the lightsaber props, complete with a blade consisting of 64-72 very bright LED lights chained in sequence to give the look and feel of an igniting lightsaber blade. Also, the ForceFX line has built-in digitaly captured sound for power-up, power-down, swing and clash. I own the Vader replica and the Anakin (Episode III) replica and they are truly awesome. Big plus here...they run about 119.00 US. While you can't actually bash the shit out of them, they will hold up to some fairly active dueling...I've gone at it with a friend of mine from my Katana dojo...of course in the dark and somewhat enhanced with Mother Nature...and the experience was very cool, to say the least.
The Force FX line hilts run (with the NEW line) about 7% oversize to accomodate the electronics, but it's barely noticable.
For you hardcore collectors, they also carry EXACT replicas of the hilts alone for around 300-350 dollars (no blade), but these go way beyond reproductions and are built to the EXACT specifications of the hilts actually used in the films. Every blade from Luke's Episode IV blade to Yoda's blade are faithfully recreated to exact specs. The Signature line of hilts come with certificates of authenticity and there are even a few signed models.
If you're going to collect, do it right.
(Just for the record...the "Prize Piece" of my entire Star Wars collection...and it IS extensive...is a Luke Skywalker lightsaber hilt prop that was actually used in "Return of the Jedi". I got it at an auction in Los Angeles back in the late '80's....you don't even want to know what I paid for that little piece of cinematic history...) 😎
