Hey everyone!! I'm sure you all know that the blockbuster movie Star Wars is coming out next week, just wanted to know if you guys are seeing it or not and what you think of the previews and trailers so far. I can't wait for the movie, it looks like the best one yet.

I am. All of the mini-trailers on Star Wars.com are really good too. I already have my advance tickets. 🙂

8 more days.....8 more days......8 more days.........8 more days......8 more days.........8 more days........

i cant wait for this movie...it consumes me.....my favorite line in the trailers? it goes:

Emperor Palpatine: "Lord Vader?"

Vader: "Yes Master?"

Emperor Palpatine: "RISE....."

it gives me chills.....8 more days......8 more days........8 more days....

Ian McDiarmid is really going to put on an awesome performance, once again, and also in a physical way which is something we've never seen before. I can't wait for his saber duels and to finally see the Lord of the Sith unleash his fury.

"You're under arrest, Chancellor!"- Master Windu (ignites saber, as do the Jedi that accompanied him)

"Are you threatening me, Master Jedi?!"- Supreme Chancellor Palpatine (whips out his saber)

Thats so cool...and chilling, just like what you quoted prime. Can't wait... ^^

you're right, that quote by Palpatine was bone chilling when Mace approached him. aaaahhhhhhh, i cant wait for May 19th. i feel like a kid at Christmas time...

yeah, Ian McDiarmid deserves something for his performance. he MAKES Emperor Palpatine.....

I was just about to say that (even though I've said it before). Ian will deserve an award for this, but its doubtful he'lls personally get one since it would probably go to Hayden or Ewan. I'm sure all the major characters will put up perhaps oscar worthy performances. I think the Palpatine character and Yoda character especially deserve mention.

I remember when I watched the commentary track for ESB and ROTJ dvds. Lucas said, that at the time, Frank Oz was considered for an award but never nominated because puppeteering wasn't considered acting at the time, which Lucas felt was outrageous. I agree. Oz brought Yoda to life as did the work of his staff and team. Theres more to acting than a physical presense. Ah well, we know better and can give all these wonderful characters our own kudos not too long from now. 😀

it is definetly going to be a film to remember. I am very excited, and I truly hope it lives up to the hype.

I don't think that at this point with some of the scenes and dialogue they have revealed that this movie cannot live up to the hype. Think about it. If Lucas didn't deliver, even in forethought, he wouldn't have revealed what he did and expected that alone to sell the movie and make it a success to the fans and movie goers.

Therefore, by tipping his hand slightly and showing us just a sample of whats in store, thats saying alot. Because we can easily assume these scenes we've seen are the best high points this movie is going to get to. He's taking a risk "betting the farm" as it's been said about him, even those that work with him, as he's done before with the previous films.

By showing us this much and continuing to show more little by little, he's basically telling us all 'believe the hype'. If there was reasonable doubt, even amongst his staff and actors that this movie would flop, he wouldn't put his best moments or just a few of them as eye candy, as a bluff, on the chance we will call him on that and then ultimately be disappointed.

He's willing to reveil this much because he knows we won't be and that the movie is probably better than the hype. He wants to both make money and entertain. He's going to do that. He wouldn't set himself up for a blockbuster movie like this by not living up to the hype he allowed to be generated.

This is not going to be like AVP (Alien versus Predator).

Star Wars- Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith is going to deliver folks, believe it. The fact alone that its pg-13, a Star Wars first, instantly shows a raising of the bar. We've got nothing to worry about.

Well one thing to worry about anyway- getting a good seat in the theater.

EDIT: And another thing- obnoxious fans who may talk during the movie over how cool what just happened was.

yes I need to go to a loews theater for this one. Ineed uber sound and picture.

yea I think this one is even going to be better then the original ones. I heard there is going to be 5 lightsaber battles in it. This is going to be one of the best movies of all time. My favorite fights are going to be yoda vs the emperor and anakin vs obi-wan.

I hope this movie is good, but I remember back in 99 waiting for the Phantom Menace to come out. I counted down the days, and when I finally saw it, it was...HORRIBLE. A total piece of SHIT. I left the theater so dissapointed. Attack of the Clones was better, but still not a good movie by any means. Revenge of the Sith looks better, but my expectations have been lowered greatly. I will see Revenge of the Sith, but I doubt I will even see it the first day.

What's better selling a whole bunch of movie related products or selling an incredible movie? Looks like George Lucas chose movie related products. DOLLARS RULE!!!

I have tickets for openning night at midnight and I am excited.

I'm not expecting much- already by the previews, some of the dialogue looks flat an forced, though Ian McDiarmid does seem to be the exception to the rule.

I'm going in for the hype, the action, and the eye candy, not to mention all the midnight antics from obsessive, hyper fans, and because of that I don't think I'll be dissapointed at the least since there'll be enough cool showpieces to make up for all the stink.

I hope this move is a good one and does live up to the hype, but I don't think Lucas is risking anything. This movie will rake in hundreds of millions dollars no matter how good or bad it is. And if the Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones did not hurt Lucas reputation then I don't see how this movie could.

yea this one will definetly be much better then the previous two. I have read a bunch or articles, i've seen a bunch of trailers, and i've seen what the critics wrote who have seen it already. They thought it was great. Time magazine gave it great ratings along with some other ones I was reading. today on trl, they are having the show at skywalker ranch at 5:00 et. it is going to be kick ass. they have good charlotte performing along with a whole mess of celebrities who are going to be there. keep an eye out you guys, this one is going to blow the other two away.

4 days left guys!! anyone going opening day? it is really hard to get tickets opening day unless you like reserved them or something, or stood in line for weeks. which some people are crazy enough to do. there are people in florida I think who have been waiting in line for 7 weeks, that is crazy.

You misunderstand what I mean a bit. We all know that win, lose, or draw Lucas makes the money. Thats not primarily what I was refering to. I was primarily refering to the fact that he would be letting alot of hardcore fans down if the movie doesn't deliver. What would make this even more crushing and contemptable for some would be to do like I said, and hype this movie so bad like it has been that it leaves the audiance unsatisfied.

I honestly believe theres no way this movie is going to fail at any single point. Lucas understands his shortcomings with some of the things in the last two. He realizes just as much as we do how important it is that this movie delivers.

Whether we see it or not, he's his own critic and trys to outdo himself each time, and I think, as far as the prequals are concerned, each one has been better than the one that preceded it, and this one will be no different.

Just the plot alone makes this an action packed, in your face movie.

Remember, its not the setting of the stage, the introduction of the characters, and the starts of the political scheming of The Phantom Menace. Its not the friction between Master and Apprentice, an investigation, and the start of a war like Attack Of The Clones.

This is the end. It is the Revenge Of The Sith, quite literally. The end of a vicious war thats already claimed many, people turning on eachother, more personal violence and betrayal, final confrontations, fights to the death, a coup, and the systematic destruction of the only peace keepers left in the galaxy. Its an all-out purging of the ways of old and the start of something truely evil and perhaps the icing on the cake- the fall of a hero and the unveiling of the true enemy to which all are powerless to stop.

If that doesn't spell automatic fan approval when we've all seen it, then our damn standards are too high and we're being too critical and very unreasonable and would be bitching just to bitch.

Theres no need to hope or have faith this movie will deliver. I know it will. Thats not an opinion, thats a fact.

Our local cineplex is having a special Midnight Show at 12:01 am on Thursday. Already got my tickets! I even took Thursday off (like a month ago!) so I can catch the afternoon shows as well.

Yeah, I know....no life. Screw it. :xpulcy:

Episode One was decent... With the exception of Jar Jar Binks, whom I found VERY annoying.

Episode 2 was quite good in parts (the Yoda vs. Dooku duel being the best), but those parts were separated by what seemed like several hours worth of poorly-acted, boring scenes.

Episode 3 looks like it might be really good. Then again, the previews for the other two had the same effect... But I'll probably wind up seeing it anyway. Its odd that I liked the first three movies so much more... But it could just be that I was in grade school when I first saw them.

In any case, the LOTR film trilogy utterly thumps the Star Wars franchise. 😀
