Stocks/bondage when someone has a history of abuse??

Hi again everyone. I have a question for you all.
I absolutly love the concept of stocks and tight bondage when tickling is applied.. However we have never been able to break through that barrier due to the fact that my wife underwent a tremendous amount of physical abuse and she gets very claustrophobic. even something like being in an elevator is too much for her sometimes. So, if we do bondage she must be able to pull out of it and its more 'notional' or imagined bondage if any. I admit she has been very willing in the past to try but the memories of the past keep her from being completely immobilized. This is not neccesarily a problem per se, a bit of a challenge when we want to get kinky I suppose.

I was just wondering if anyone else here has had to overcome similar obstacles in order to enjoy our little fetish world?

Yep. You guys are not alone in this. I've had to overcome quite a few obstacles...including fear of tickling itself...in order to reclaim my love of it.

For me, it's been a slow process in which I've gradually worked to desensitize myself to various triggers. Little by little, I've been able to enter into things more fully (and more comfortably) without having to worry as much about other things getting in the way. One of the tricks to doing this is to take small steps when you're feeling strong and not press the envelope too much or too quickly when you're feeling vulnerable...although we can get to the point of pushing ourselves a bit even then if we learn to listen to what our gut is saying to us.

If either of you would like to discuss this further in private, I have no problem sharing the things that have helped me along the way.
