For font it can be variant, because it can change your writing mood 🙂 but for normal writing i used Calibri or Abadi (the new font on MsOffice 365).

for the paragrah space, i always used single space (full stack) because my writing style tends to be more in narrative. and using single space means you can develop the character motivation more deliberately.

and for margin, i used narrow. yes, i love writing lot of paragraph and make it longer in opening and ending.

my type of story is like: the victim has higher position in social life and meet some of unfortunate incident that leads into ticklish predicament. and for the ending, i love a retribution ending to the character, but if i go crazy, i love to make the victim enter the eternal tickling commitment.

I use 12 pt. Times New Roman, single space. But I insert a space after the end of each paragraph (Format/Paragraph: under spacing chose '12' in the After box.)

This is also what I use when posting to DeviantArt.

For an eBook, I delete the spacing after paragraphs and indent the first line of every paragraph.

When writing the story, use whatever formatting that you, personally, like the best. Then change the formatting to fit wherever you post or publish. And take advantage of Styles.

I use palatino 11 pt because that's what I like - with Styles used for chapter headings, section breaks, etc. Also a macro that toggles between palatino and comic sans (yes, that font) because I like using comic sans when I do revisions.

When a story is finished, I have a macro-aided process to change to Times New Roman, adjust paragraph spacing and indentation, change section breaks, and otherwise fix things for posting to a forum like this one, or on my website, or to make into an ebook.
