Strong Storms and Power outage
We had 2 strong thunder storms with winds of 60 – 80 mph crashing through your area Wednesday and Friday cause trees to tumble over power lines. As of Friday there was over 500,000 homes without electricity and the temperature was 100 degrees with a heat index of 120, (wet humidity)
Now, there’s only 120,000 without power of most of them been without power since Wednesday.
While I was sitting in my home with my family I can’t help but think back to the Katrina Flood and how the people of New Orleans didn’t have a place to go, food, drinking water, medical care and living around all that death and disease for as long as they did. I had to take God that we only had the power outage and was able to get around to find everything we needed to go on.
I have a new found respect for them and everyone that was caught up in the storms of 05.
