How had you been doing your figure layouts previously? The upper-body musculature in this picture is well defined and the linework pleasingly crisp, I must say! Well posed, too... nice sense of balance and weight!

And LBH, prior to now I'd been using the two-sectioned torso model consisting of the upper torso oval, the lower torso pelvis-hexagon, and the free-floating circle between them to distribute weight and shape posture. It wasn't nearly as human as this, but it was also harder to pose, though i think that's just a transitional hiccup. Also, I have to redefine my sense of proportions about this frame. All in all not a bad first attempt, however.
