Superman-v.com is reporting that Kevin Spacey is Lex Luthor

Again, this is unconfirmed as of yet, althought we do know that spacey has tested with Routh and He has been offered the part for a while now. He has dome problems with his year long commitment as Artistic Director of the Old Vic, which he has stated in interviews or he would have already been officially cast. The site is reporting that he has worked his commitment schedule out and will be Luthor in the new film. Again, this is not official yet, and it may not be the case, but if this is, then it is good news indeed.
 
i'm kinda surprised that they didn't go with Michael Rosenbaum(the guy that is currently lex)...but i guess they wanted oscar presence.
 
They aren't going with any of the actors from "Smallville" as they didn't want it to be "smallville: The movie". Also the Smallville storyline is vastly different from the storyline started in Superman 1 and 2(as well as the Superman storyline in general for that matter) which this movie is a sequel to. Basically Spacey will be reprising Hackmans role, but this time not so goofy. So this movie is going to be Superman 3 essentially, and like Halloween H20 states that H4-6 never happened, Superman 3 and 4 never happened.
 
okay i do understand that,although superman 3 wasn't all that bad....4 was awful.
 
I find Mr. Spacey (sp?) to be an excellent actor, but I'm having trouble visualizing him as a supervillain, much less Lex Luthor!
 
Again, he is reprising the Gene Hackman Lex Luthor, and he is alot like Hackman. He can be a great villian. Have you seen "A buggs Life"? He was the head villian. He can more than do the job. As far as Superman 3, the only reason Superman fans like it is because Reeve is in it. They really don't like the film as it is what the Salkinds meant to do with Superman 1 and 2 had Donner not come on and mandated a re-write. There was actually a scene where Superman is flying around the city looking for Lex, sees a bald guy and swoops down to get him, and Telly Savalas (Kojack) truns around and says "Who loves you baby?" That was how bad that script was. Superman 3 represents to the Superman fans all that was wrong with th Salkinds.
 
Kevin Spacey would be a wonderful choice! ever see Seven? he was calm, cool, condescending evil personified! he would give the character of Lex Luthor real depth. and I’m not just saying that because he makes me swoon. (but ohhhhhh… he does… )

If I remember correctly he was Nicholas Cage's choice for Luthor back when he though about playing Superman Yes I still wanna see Zod beat the livin crap outta Superman😛
