When Ross got to OKC, he got a nice surprise.
Ross walked into the office and saw Fritz and Steve, and they told him.
"Ross, fifty people from the last show are going to sign up. That's a bit better than we expected, but that is not nearly as good as what we have to tell you now" Fritz said.
"Okay, partner, I'm listening"
"Word has gone out like wildfire. We wanted it to be a surprise. It turned out, that our land in Texas is right on the line of a place we were not sure we had. Thus, we drilled on that line, and came up with a gas strike that might be the biggest one of all yet, and that includes the mega one here in Oklahoma. We are going to do a combination personal show, and Zoom show in the office there tomorrow of get this, one thousand people. The foreman expects that when the potential investors are shown this, anywhere between two fifty and five hundred people will sign up" Fritz said.
"Wow, Fritz, that's excellent. Ah, do you perhaps have a geology report or details of this strike, just for my information?" Ross asked.
Fritz handed Ross the report "I most certainly do"
"Fritz, how did we get around the whole Texas drilling commission thing?" Ross asked.
"Wellll. one of our likely people who we are going to speak to, and who probably knows a bunch of investors for us, advised that it would be to the commission's best interests to let us drill. Nothing, illegal, just a bit, of, political muscle and game so to say. Thus, we were able to get rid of the stop drill., and now, bang, here we are" Fritz said.
Ross took an iced tea out of the office fridge.
"I am so thrilled about this news, because, the Patrick's divorce seems to getting more nasty by the day. Tiffany Patrick is out of control. By the time Miss Tiffany gets finished with Tim, Tim will not have a company left, he will maybe not have any money left, and , I might just have to close RossShell because it will not make sense to keep it if my largest client there goes under" Ross said.
"Ross, here's a little, idea. Why dont you see if you can help Sir Timmy out, and just maybe, take a part of his company for doing so, and try to find him joint marketing clients soi that you have some muscle over him for a change?" Fritz said.
Ross sighed. "Business wise, that would be an excellent idea, except for my relationship with a certain teacher whom I very much enjoy sleeping next to every night. Kayley;s and my relationship has been wonderful since I have gotten her to forgive me for my little screw up with you know what woman who we will not talk about. If Kayley found out I was forging some form of partnership with Tim, even if it was beneficial for both Tim and I financially, Tim would not be the only one with a wife at the divorce lawyer, I would be too" Ross said.
Fritz sighed. "Okay, it was just a thought. Forget it. Back to what we have to do here the next three days" Fritz said.
Fritz Steve and Ross talked at the office that day, had dinner, and Ross went back to the hotel to prepare for the big one thousand person show the next day.
Of course, Ross made his nightly phone call to the teacher.
"Ross, for someone who is going to do a one thousand person show, and might sign up hundreds of people, and make tons of money tomorrow, you sound very troubled. Tell your best friend what is on your mind" Kayley said.
Ross sighed. "Okay, I promise I'm not going to do it, so please dont scream or fly off the handle at me when I tell you. Mister P suggested that if Timothy really gets into trouble with this divorce, that I should join forces with him, form some kind of partnership, and be the senior partner of the company " Ross said.
Kayley started laughing hysterically.
"I'm not mad. It is too funny to even contemplate. The bottom line is, Ross, that Tim is such an egomaniac, that even if this would help him financially, he would not do it because he would not want you to "lead things" , and also, I would not want the two of you working in the same office every day, as I think you two would want to kill each other, especially when you would have to fly off to your investors shows so often" Kayley said.
Ross sighed. "Okay, let's not even worry about that now. It is just hypothetical. Let me deal with what I have to do down here the next two to three days and I will let you know when I'm coming home" Ross said.
"Okay, sweet dreams" Kayley said.
"You too, teacher" Ross said, blowing Kayley a kiss through the phone.
The next day, Ross went off with Fritz for an investor personal show of five hundred at the Texas state line. Steve stayed at the office to lead a lecture there when everyone got to the site. Then after a couple of hours of discussion and information sharing, the investors left, Fritz and Ross checked into a hotel, and had dinner. The next day, the same thing occurred. Five hundred more investors came down, and Ross and Fritz showed those investors the wells, while Steve talked from the OKC office, and more information was given.
When the two shows were over, it was figured that anywhere between 300 and 500 investors would sign.
Fritz sighed. Three hundred would be shit., four hundred would be acceptable, and five hundred would be very good to great"
"Fritz, all we can do is to try to be the salespeople. Hopefully we will get the five hundred. Let's just see.
"Ross, why dont I fly back to OKC and you get a car to take you to the DFW airport and get on the next flight you can home. We are done here. Might as well go home to the teacher, and to the trouble with Sir Timothy" Fritz said.
"Yes, sir, good idea, we will stay in touch" Ross said, as he called a car service, and was driven two hours to the DFW airport, where he hopped on a 6 pm flight to JFK that landed at 11 NY time.
Ross took an Uber home, unlocked the apartment door, and found Kayley reading in bed.
"Teacher present with her feet covered so you cannot get at them. How was your show?" Kayley said.
"Fair, we dont know yet. Anywhere from 300 of 1000 investors which would be terrible, 400,which would be fair, and 500 which would be good" Ross said.
"Well, you cant win them all" Kayley said.
As Ross undressed, Kayley brought up the subject of Tim and Ross working together.,
"Ross, I was thinking about the idea of you and Tim joining forces. Business wise it might make sense if Tiffany really hurts Tim financially in court. The problem is, that with the way Tim acts toward you, how could you work with him in the same company, and still keep us how we are?" Kayley said.
"Well, I was thinking about that too, and there would be only one way. We evaluate everything regarding the assets of both RossShell and what Tim has. We draw everything up, and make an iron clad agreement. Then, before we agree to anything, we get someone to either convince or force Tiffany the maniac to end this crazy war she has with Tim. Then, we agree to work in separate offices, so we are not on top of each other every day" Ross said.
"Ross, you are so tired from OKC. Let's just rest, you go to sleep. Go into your present office tomorrow if you feel up to it. Please, only bring this up to Tim after we discuss it more, and you really think about it, and if it makes sense, okay" Kayley said.
Ross saluted Kayley "Yes, Madam Teacher"
After Ross showered and got undressed, Ross and Kayley made love. Kayley as usual dropped off to sleep rapidly, but Ross, with his mind swirling could not sleep.
Would Ross REALLY consider joining forces with Tim if Tim got into trouble due to his divorce, considering Ross and Tim;s extremely difficult personal and business relationship?
That would be seen.
