They actually show up just fine on all of my systems (3 kinds of Mac and 4 kinds of PC).

It's just an issue of a system's video display robustness.

Long time ago I used to have animated on my clips4sale store for every video. A cutomer complained that because of the animated gifs on my page, his system crashed when ever he visited my page. So, I changed to all still images. Now clips4sale.com defaults to generating animated gifs for each video you upload.

So I wouldn't say that "the science is settled". I think we're still feeling our way around some of this techno-geek stuff, IMHO.

Tophat, I understand your point, but check at the views of my thread, they always get thousands of views in just a few days... versus other threads. Is true that not many people comment on the board, but I get a lot of PMs. As for sales... having animated gifs that look like previews have actually helped to increase sales.

Also, in the past, when friends have come to me with this problem, in seems that the actual problem is in the browser they are using, not the gifs. So if you are using Firefox or Mozilla, try using Internet Explorer. I've god 100% "it works great now!" feedback!

I remember a few years back when my computer uses to freeze when a website was flash intensive. Today, if a website doesn't have at least one flashy element, is not a website. Funny how times change.

Still, I am considering making a clipstore for those who have older and slower computers, or don't have DSL or Cable Modem capabilities, but I am wondering if is worth it, since I asume, and I may be wrong, that if someone doesn't have money to upgrade from Dial UP to DSL, he won't have money to buy clips and as technology keeps moving forward, the Dial Up days keep fading away in the distance.

Many parts of the country do not have access to DSL. Not having it does not mean you can't afford it. I live in a rural area and have been able to get DSL for just over a year. And no, our "cable provider" (what a joke) doesn't even offer it to us either, and has no plans to do so.
